Olive Bizarre is an establishment that is inviting, reasonably priced and has delicious fayre ( and is totally accessible for the disabled!! ). Although situated on the harbour side of Newcastle, it is convenient to Newcastle itself and the famous Mountains of Mourne and once you see the façade you won't forget it!
The menu consists of an amazing choice of delicious home-made and traditional, the food is cooked the way you want it ( the dessert counter is... well let's just say that you will have difficulty choosing from the tempting fayre on offer! ). Whether you want just a coffee or a meal, you can sit outside or in and parking is no problem.
The ambience is perfect ( it is a happy place, if you know what I mean ). When dining you have a choice of sitting at a table or sinking into a big sofa! If you want time to yourself in peace and quiet, with a book or fancy a good chat with the proprietor, David, you can have either and the staff cannot do enough to help you.
It's rare to find an establishment that is consistent in service, value, quality and standard but Olive Bizarre is just that and of all the dining establishments in Newcastle this is the one that I recommend above all!
I encourage you to come try it next time you're in Newcastle. You won't be...

We loved the ambience and unique character of this place with ittle touches like the jolly knitted tea cosys, old fashioned crockery plus occasional armchairs/ settees dotted amongst the more standard tables and chairs - not to mention the hilarious loo where i wasted quite a bit of time taking photos ( you really must visit the loo :)
There was a good range of tempting choices on the menu but we alll had fishermans pie. It was very tasty although the dishes they came in were really very small so there was a little too much potato and not.quite enough fish. It was still very nice though and came with a nicely dressed & fresh herb leaf salad.
There was a good range of tempting cakes too - the orange chocolate cake was SUBLIME ( we ordered extra to take away). The fruit scones had a nice taste but were sadly stale on the day we visited
We will definitely be returning here and i would recommend you give...

Had thee worst fry in this place, never mind the fact it's an absolute rip off at something like £8.50. You get 3 slices of toast, the tiniest slice of soda bread, the stingiest little pot of beans I've ever seen, 1 trimmed poached egg, 1 bacon, 1 sausage & no potato bread & I believe the 2 halves of a tomato are more to try and take the bare look of the plate but it does not. Also they messed up my order so ended up basically having beans on cold toast (more like BEAN on toast) while I waited...
