Very rude staff. I would never usually complain, as I appreciate it is a fast food establishment so I take things as they are, but the way that my friend and I were spoken to in the Barnstaple "Lets Go Bowling" Burger King was some of the worst customer service I have experienced. The Shift Manager, Lee (he wears glasses and I believe he was American) was rude, arrogant, and answered questions with an awful tone. I asked about the price as I had noticed that it was a different price on my recent trip to Bristol (this franchise is almost £1 more on certain items than there) and he responded with a patronising, short tone "we have no control over that" (which of course I understood, I was simply curious as to why- and I made it perfectly clear I didnt mean any offense in my question). He kept rolling his eyes when asked about items on the menu, he bluntly offered me cheese and seemed annoyed when I asked if it cost extra or if it was included, and when I went to order my drink, he interrupted me to sarcastically point out that "as its coke there's gonna be a sugar tax on that". He actually made me feel stupid. Furthermore, when the menu screens kept changing (rather quickly, to be honest) he pointed out that we needed to order quicker and that he also has no control over the menu speed. I have worked in customer service for my whole professional life, and if I had a member of my staff talk to customers like that they would be seriously...
Read moreI went here after a game of bowling at Lets Go for my sons 9th birthday. When we arrived (through the adjoining doors) we were greeted by a barrier separating the seating area from the counter/window seats. We approached a staff member at the counter and asked if were able to seat at one of the tables as we were a party of 7 as the separation confused us (no signage/notice). The colleague was unsure so asked another higher up the food chain. He, rather grumpily and unwilling, poked his head round the door and saw our buggy and with a sigh he didn't even try to hide said "you've got a kid so I guess so but make sure you tidy up after yourselves." Now I don't have a problem with leaving the area clean and tidy. What I do have a problem with is unnecessary attitude. Clearly what we were asking was too much, and they claim that "there are only 4 people working so they're not using the seating area" however, the joint was DEAD. Every colleague we saw or spoke to on our visit was miserable. And had there been an alternative close by or had I not needed to stop and feed the baby we'd have left! Why not lock the adjoining door from Lets Go if you don't want people sitting in the seating area? I've worked in cafes, bars and restaurants and never have I treated customers with such attitude...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting Burger King since becoming vegan, and we were eager to see what they had to offer.
The store was clean, and we were the only ones there when we entered. Weird assortment of music playing, though.
However, the server had a very negative attitude towards veganism, remarking how disgusting the vegan options were. A business is supposed to encourage sales—not deter customers from a purchase. So, this was very unprofessional on his part, considering we did not ask for his opinion.
We still went ahead with our order, but it left us feeling rather awkward and soured our experience. The food was ready quickly, and it was pretty good, especially the vegan nuggets (which were apparently so gross that the server had to spit them out... talk about exaggerating. 🙄)
It's unlikely we'd return to this...
