My husband asked me to marry him here 23 years ago so we have a soft spot for Han Court and Danny but boy were we in for an unwanted surprise on sat 15th feb 2020. On arrival the door was locked due to a dodgy catch and storm Dennis. shown to a very basic table with plastic table cloth (yuk) Pressed to order twice whilst we still had our noses in the menu, then ordered,l asked for the food warmer to be placed on the table as lm a slow eater and hate cold food...no other tables had warmers on them. We were brought hot side plates, left so long they went cold! Food came, sweet and sour king prawn, raw onion and peppers were served in it,l like al dente but the onion overpowered everything so l asked for it to be cooked,it was brought back nigh on the same in about 2 mins...l gave up. Then a 'stag do' arrived, they were put into a side room but every time the door was left open raucous and loud behaviour trickled through, a couple on another table kept asking for the door to be closed every time it was left open I closed it once. One waitress had to keep calling for assistance because her English wasn't sufficient to understand what we were asking. After our starter and main dishes were cleared we didn't see anybody again we weren't offered desert despite waiting another 15 minutes,at this point we decided to pick up dessert at the local supermarket. When Danny was here this place was on point,l had to ask for chopsticks, the salt was damp and didnt pour,no ice in with drinks,no smiles or nice greetings. Very flat and very disappointing. The food was tasty enough but portions were small, won tons in the soup were half the size they used to be,hot and sour was just the hot element...no sour zing. It really used to be a special evening at Han Court...not so now. SADDENED AND...
Read moreWe ordered three set menus and then separate dishes for the fourth person. When we got the bill, we had been charged for four set menus as well as the forth meal. This was a disappointing end to a really nice meal. When we said what had happened they weren’t keen to do anything because they said we ate enough for four people. This was really not our fault as we didn’t realise we had been given food for four people as we have never been before. There was also far too much food for three of us so we were all trying hard to not waste any. I’ve not experienced a situation like this before in a restaurant. In the end they deducted £10 but we were billed £25 more than we should have been for what we ordered.
The food was very good though, just be careful with what you order and double check the waiting staff have written it down correctly so you...
Read moreVisited Han Court on Monday. We booked a table for 2 adults 3 children. Got our table then had to wait 35 min just for someone to acknowledge us and take drink order. Then had to wait another 30 min for someone to take food order and only because we flagged them down. Food was lovely. Then we ordered more drinks and seconds and the waitress was very rude and didn't even write down the order properly and I never got my meal. The table next door to us got my chicken in lemon sauce. We still didn't get our second round of drinks and reminded the waiter but nothing. We where there 2 and half hours and ended up paying and leaving. I get that its busy with the eat out to help out scheme but that does not excuse rudeness or bad service. We where also told we could pay separate at till and when we got to the till told that was...
