A review of this particular KFC, from an Uber Eats drivers perspective (I am an Uber Eats driver in Stotfold area);
I am writing this because the franchise and customers who order through delivery service, needs to know how bad the service is for us, on your behalf.
From the restaurants point of view; they are short staffed, only maximum 2 staff members are seen at all times at the front counter, packing/serving/handing out the orders. At busy periods, you are lucky to see 3 members. Anyways;
So when a rider gets there, the deliveries are not a priority at all. In-store orders are prepared first. They are never prepared, as soon as they appear on screen. It is prepared on which rider gets there first and shows their order number. At that point, it is even difficult to get a staff members attention. And even when we do present ourselves, we are looked at, like unwanted people. Eventually, the customers order is prepared. I had a couple of incidents in which one of your crew members (short asian elderly man with a black beard - no namebadge, checked shirt - I am assuming he is a manager), when an order requires a specific drink, he would hand me whatever drink he grabs. When I pointed this out, he called me and i quote ‘you are the only driver that’s being difficult!’. I am sorry for doing my job, but I see the drink being available. This has happened on many occasions. And I am usually a very patient driver and never am rude, but this particular staff member do test every drivers patience. And now when he sees me, he treats me like I am invisible. But I haven’t done anything wrong to him. If a drink is not available, let us know so we can call customer and ask them what drink they want, instead of you choosing for them and they might be allergic to that particular drink. Another customer orders 3 apple and blackcurrant fruit shoots with their childrens meals. The same staff member gives me 2 apple& blackcurrant and 1 orange fruit shoot. When I politely asked him to change the orange to the other, he huffs and tells me ‘they all are the same!’ Sir, no they are not and please can I have it changed?
When orders are prepared, most staff seems clueless as to what items belong to what order. Yesterday I had three customers ring me after I delivered, that items are missing from their order. Any delivery driver, will only hand food order matched with the reciept with the order number. So we sadly have to tell the customers to ring uber eats and ask them to issue a refund and apologise profusely for something that is not even our fault.
So sadly, as it pains me, I really wanted to give this restaurant 0* and I sincerely hope that you will allocate one of your staff members to just solely focus on delivery orders at any time. Or if you do not have the capacity to focus and get your delivery orders right, please just pause your deliveries during busy periods, so you all can focus on your instore orders! A driver minimum earns £3 per order depending on distance, the amount will increase in pennies. Eg, from service station to Stotfold High Street, a rider is paid £3.38. If we are stood to made wait for one of your orders, for more than 30 mins, its not worth us making £3.38-£3.50 an hour; less than national minimum wage. And in your staffs own words ‘I don’t care!’.
I really hope this review gives an insight as to what any rider assigned to this restaurant have to go through. It’s really not worth it for us, so when we see KFC, majority of us, decline the orders straightaway. And if we decline more than 2, we are banned from any orders for an hour. So we end up having to take them. And end up making less than £5 per hour, because of the service here.
So if you are a customer, who have ordered from here before through Uber Eats, and agree with me, or if you are a delivery rider that agrees with me, please upvote this, because I really want the franchise to reflect on this, and if they still continue, then I am sorry but your Baldock branch has set itself up for disaster. Which you probably don’t care...
Read moreBad experience at KFC Baldock. Ordered bargain bucket for £18.18 in the kiosk. It was really busy there and they were understaffed so expected to wait a little bit longer than usual, but I waited, waited and waited but my order was getting no where closer being ready. After 30 - 40 minutes off waiting I eventually left the services as I was getting late for work. I emailed KFC care squad few days later expecting to get a refund but they got back to me saying that I should request a refund directly with the restaurant. I walked in and spoke to someone who apparently was a supervisor. He scribbled my details down on a piece of cardboard and promised me a refund. Two weeks later still no refund. I emailed KFC care squad again explaining the issue about not getting the refund but they issued me with £10 KFC voucher a goodwill and explained that there's nothing they can do regarding the refund and I should contact the restaurant. Thanks for the voucher but it's not a full refund and I don't expect to get one since the KFC staff there don't...
Read moreI will stop going here from now on. Machine took our order. I paid. Then it froze. No receipt. No order. Had to queue up to speak to someone who just did not care & order again. The staff are all rude. One guy held hands with a friend over the counter and chatted to him for about 5 minutes today. Then proceeded to carry on serving customers food without washing his hands. The other server called over an employee from chopstix and hand him a free chicken burger. Why was I not given free food? All I got was 20 minute wait & soggy chips. The whole time I was waiting I could see the chips on the stand. The chicken was in the tray. Why the wait? Why do they insist on slamming food down on the counter, and why can they not get even the simplest order correct. Last 3 visits have resulted in wrong and missing food or drinks. I’m no longer accepting being treated this way. Colonel Sanders would be so disappointed. You can see from the reviews it’s...
