Lakeside Cafe — Restaurant in North Kesteven

The new cafe looks great, with sufficient room between tables so you're not part of your next door neighbours conversation. The lady on the till was more interested in making conversation with her colleagues. I had soup with ciabatta, which was very nice. My friend had a jacket potato with butter. The potato was rock hard & the butter (which was already dumped on top of the potato) was margarine. The accompanying salad consisted of a load of lettuce leaves & 1 piece of tomato. No salad dressing. We both had a different flavoured slice of cheesecake, both of which were not good. The biscuit base was indescribable, I couldn't hazard a guess at what the cheesecake consisted of, but I'm sure it wasn't cream cheese & double cream. I have a feeling it had flour in it. Stopped by here again like we did last year on our way to visit family, The new cafe looks great ,great seating and lovely atmosphere ,we were at table 118. Had a breakfast, which was lovely but personally I would change the bacon ,to fatty and looked under cooked ,once finished looked around the garden centre which is lovely . TOILETS NEED UPGRADING DIRTY AND HORRIBLE Even the wet floor sign was Filthy NOW let's get on to the Takeaway We always take scones away with us and they are always delicious BUT NOT THIS TIME Really disappointing, DRY and Very Dence nothing like we had before ,Now we took 7 different ones away with us which wasn't cheap Maybe theve changed baker but will never be buying from there again , Wasted alot of money as they went...

Called in two of us for breakfast Wife had the smaller breakfast whilst i went for the “mega breakfast” I wouldn't call it a mega breakfast under any circumstances as all they did was to fill the plate up with fried bread and toast The most annoying thing was that all the food apart from the black pudding was only lukewarm and when i say lukewarm i am being very generous Its ok holding bacon and sausages in a bains marie but at least show them the grill again to properly heat them up before serving them The toast had been reheated and was like concrete We had been looking forward to trying this venue for some time but after this experience sorry to say we will not be returning Overall experience 1...
