We only found two eateries in North Queensferry. One was way out our price range and Rankins was the cheaper option.

The decor of the cafe is incredible with a lot of it recycled material intertwined with the new and they have pulled it off beautifully. The fragmented mirror on the wall, alongside the stained wooden wall with the lamp over the fireplace. It all just works beautifully.

My friend had the cous cous and falafel wrap and he said it was absolutely beautiful. He really like the additional mug of soup for £2.50. I started with the Hebridean stack which was OK, I would have preferred a little more beetroot chutney and perhaps a wee bit of salmon to top it off. It just seemed a little lonely on plate. I opted for scrambled egg and salmon to follow on from the stack. The salmon portion was huge and tasty but the scrambled egg was a huge let down.

The coffee is made with care and tastes absolutely delicious. The shortbread that accompanies the hot drinks is absolutely amazing as well. I couldn't believe it wasn't homemade. We finished off with a cinnamon bun and wow. What a cake! I don't know if they are baked in store or bought in. I highly reccomend both for size and flavour.

Staff were extremely busy as the cafe was full the whole time we were in and even though there was only two of us they happily sat us down at a table for 6.

Don't miss put Rankines when you are in North Queensferry! You won't be disappointed (in...

Situated in the idyllic village of North Queensferry in Fife, a stone's throw away from the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, Rankin's café and deli is the perfect place for a bite to eat. A pleasant atmosphere, with ambient music which isn't too loud to intrude on conversation, staff who are knowledgeable about their products, photos and artwork by local artists on the walls. The food was delicious. The vegetarian breakfast and the traditional grilled breakfast are pictured, with a turmeric latte and regular latte. Their selection of specialty teas are worth trying too. This bijou restaurant is highly...

Free parking in a picturesque area outside under the classic rail bridge. Staff were are very helpful and polite. All of the food was tasty and prepared with a bit of care and attention. The pot of tea was a tad weak but that's hardly a problem that's can't be fixed. All in all I loved this place and would go back. (That morning I had tried 'down the hatch' on the south side of the water and they wouldn't even give me a table when they had loads free!) so I'm glad they were rubbish as I got to try this place instead and I'll come back again. Well done to the...

I love eating in this cozy wee cafe which used to be the old post office several years ago. Lovely friendly staff. This visit I had a chicken salad gluten free sandwich with side salad and Kettle crisps. Soup in a mug is an extra £2. Today's was lentil, carrot and coconut. Vegan and gluten free. Last time delicious GF thinly sliced toasted bread with lemon cream cheese and smoked salmon. Yum. My husband enjoyed a fruity couscous and sweet potato wrap. Delicious too.
