1910 Steak & Seafood — Restaurant in North Tyneside

We went for the opening night of the restaurant and overall it was a very pleasant experience. High end quality food which came at a cost, which we thought was slightly (10-20%) dearer than we thought it should have been. The restaurant is fairly small which is nice as the very attentive waiting staff are always there when needed. The view out to sea is lovely but if you're not sat at the window, as a table of 2, we found the way the seating is arranged one person had full view whilst the other had their back to it and faced a wall instead. It would have been nicer to sit side-on to the windows so as a couple both could enjoy the view. The food itself was good. Some parts were excellent, and others we were slightly let down in. For instance the fish soup, whilst very tasty, had no fish in it. Pieces of fish or seafood is what we were expecting. The Cheesecake with a sponge base was a little underwhelming. The steaks should come with a choice of sauce and a side, but you get fries and bearnaise as standard. So if you want a different sauce or veg side then this comes additionally with an extra charge. I'm being quite picky here but as a place pricing itself as high end then you would hope you expectation would be met and exceeded. As their first night though I think they've done very well, a few teething problems perhaps and I expect them to iron those out. Will we be back? We booked in for Sunday dinner and on arrival were seen & seated right away, with a good view of the coast line. I went for the pork loin Sunday dinner option and there was so much food I barely finished it (left the cabbage!), Pork was lovely as to were the rest of the plate - big Yorkshire pudding a bit to crispy for my liking but still ate the lot. Mash & roast potatoes and on the side carrots, peas, cabbage and creamy cauliflower. The wife went for the haddock which she enjoyed and came out nicely presented. We/I somehow managed to squeeze in a desert; white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake for me which was very nice and surprisingly lite and the wife had the crème brulé. Beautiful food expertly presented, enchanting atmosphere, and extremely friendly and attentive staff.

We arrived for our table but had made a mistake and had actually booked for the previous night. We were told not to worry and had a drink in the Champagne Bar whilst they juggled the tables around to accomodate us. This was a great start to an amazing meal.

The menu appears straight forward but over three courses it became evident how much care and attention is paid to each dish. They were all wonderfully balanced and couldn't be faulted.
