Crab & Waltzer — Restaurant in North Tyneside

We cannot thank Amy and the Girls enough for an amazing Celebration following our Renewal of Vows Ceremony on the 4th May 2025 ❤️ x Everything from the planning prior to the day, the ease of booking, the regular contact and the “nothing is too much” ethos they promoted was just spot on. The Venue is second to none, a lovely welcoming space with unique features and extremely well presented. The additional bonus of the Pool Table kept our younger guests entertained all evening. The variety of drinks was also appreciated by all too. We chose the second of two wonderful food options and everything was incredible and really did include a bit of everything that is rare in a food package. The best part if it could get any better was the Staff themselves. Amy the owner is an absolute legend, she even helped me with a hairdresser when all was lost. The girls who were working were incredible with our younger guests too especially Phoebe who made a lot of friends that night! We travelled 5 hours from our home to hold our Ceremony and Celebration in Whitley Bay and the Crab and Waltzer was one of the reasons why. We would not hesitate to recommend this Venue and hope everyone that uses the Venue has as lovely...

Reasonable family place.

Very kid-orientated (which isn't obvious at first) so don't expect a romantic spot or a trendy hangout.

The food decent, chicken burger was crisp and well seasoned and a fair price, though not cheap. The place was nicely done out, good, up to date decor and seating.

Unfortunately a few downers really put me off. Very young staff weren't particularly attentive. Menus had food spattered on them which was unpleasant. There was a big gob of tuna mayo on the floor under our table, similarly unpleasant.

A woman I assume to be the manager was bustling about but looked in a bad mood and certainly wasn't engaging with her customers, nor was she dealing with the trash swirling in the breeze and coming into her restaurant every time the door was opened.

The food was nice so it's a shame the management weren't keeping on top of the little things. There was plenty of staff so a bit of training and effort all that would be needed. Checking menus and tables are clean, saying hello to your customers, basic stuff would easily have...

After losing our Dad in August I’ve been taking my Mam and her grandkids down the coast on a Sunday. We ended up having lunch here one sunny afternoon. The staff couldn’t be more attentive. Sometimes you walk past somewhere and can be a bit reluctant to walk in. Especially after our recent circumstances but not here. As soon as we walked in we were greeted like old friends. The food is delicious. The crab is as fresh as you’d expect being so close to the fish quay and the portions are. Well they’re ridiculous. In the best possible way. We hadn’t been in a while as we live a half hour drive away. For the first time in a good few weeks we visited again today and wow. New things on the special board and the place was heaving. Which was really good to see. Walked in explained we didn’t book. No need. Shown immediately to a free table The portions once again! Still not hungry and it was only lunch! Great service.
