K & L Fisheries Annitsford — Restaurant in North Tyneside

Late in from work so decided on takeaway at 7pm (bearing in mind shop doesn't close until 9pm on a Sunday) Ordered 2 large fish at £9.90 each couldn't get tray of kebab meat as there was enough for the 1 customer that had ordered and then they were cleaning so no time to cook another so ordered 2 jumbo sausages and chips for my son. Guaranteed fish and sausages cooked fresh, total was £29.40 Then further ordered large curry sauce and small mushy peas, the size of the large pot is what used to be the small so you can imagine my shock at the minimal mushy peas got the young girl to add another large curry sauce so further £6.00 for the 3 items Came home tired from work starving opened the box to find a large fish the size of a goldfish 🐠 the chips weren't freshly cooked and all stuck together in a lump and sausages were overcooked so he never ate any of it, plus side 3 happy dogs and 3 very unhappy family members. Ended up having to have cheese on toast just to fill up from the extremely tiny apparently large fish!! Used to use this chippy all the time but definitely won't be coming back with the prices and the experience. Have to say the young girl who served me was very polite so well done to her. My advice to the owners takeaways especially fish is a treat to families these days atleast give us something for our hard earned cash that's big enough and edible but for portion size etc definitely not worth the total of £35.40 I feel...

I rang my order in.was told ten minutes it would be ready they did not ask for my name but I told them my name.went to collect my order was told you have to wait in the queue what's the point in ringing your order In no quicker .when I got to be served they could not find the order.then I was asked what I had order .told them one of the item which was a burger with no batter .one of the younger member staff was laughing i said to him stop laughing. I asked the the young girl was there a manager in was told just the shift manageress .the girl who served me was young with glasses on told me the shift manager can not change the policy for waiting in the queue when you phone order in.other customers were not happy with the length of time they had to wait nearly all young staff now .one of the young female serving piped up.theres only two of us serving were doing our best..the shift manager came out from the back her attitude towards was so unprofessional I would not have spoke to a customer the way she did.i have worked in catering catering most of my life and was told a customer always right..the managerss told me and pointed at me told me to.go we used this shop a lot but we will not be coming back....

Accused of leaving selfish feedback on my just eat review and as there is no way of responding I will review here too!! We ordered food at 7.30. It had not arrived by 9pm when I rang I was informed they were waiting for a driver and couldn’t tell me when that would happen!!! No mention to me at all that they were struggling due to the weather! It’s not selfish to expect your food within a reasonable time and if a customer calls to ask when their order will arrive an apology goes a long way when I was basically told they had no idea when it would even leave the shop! So no it was absolutely not selfish feedback it was an honest review!!!! In your response to my just eat review you say I’m an impatient customer who wants to put your drivers at risk!! Wow! Absolutely dreadful...
