A decent Premiere Inn though some of the newer ones are better.
They seem to use the smallest possible sheets that only just cover top to bottom on the bed, but otherwise a comfortable bed.
Other newer Premiere Inns have put TV connections on a face plate below the TV for easy plugging in of your own devices. While there was a flat screen getting at the HDMI port on the back was tricky.
There is nothing I can see on their website about a flight path going over the hotel. While it didn't disturb us too much with the window shut we couldn't leave it open at night so it's a good job it wasn't warmer.
The first night there was a fire alarm at about 10pm. We were suprised a lot of people seemed to be ignoring it but have since read reviews from people saying the same thing happened more than once during their stays and they ignored it after the first. It seems the Beafeater next door has an issue that keeps causing false alarms.
The morning after the fire alarm there was no hot water. Apparently the gas had gone out. It was fixed by the evening. Not sure if the gas going out was a safety measure from the fire alarm. But if so I would have expected them to know from other false alarms and get it reset by the morning. Maybe it was unrelated.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the Beafeater is good place to eat though not...
Read moreNice, comfy, standard Premier Inn. I had a 4 night stay here this time around (I've stayed here before). Staff always friendly and welcoming, rooms usual Premier Inn standard - basic, clean, comfy. Plenty of parking. Can be a little noisy sometimes due to aircraft overhead on airport approach and because of the close proximity to main roads. I think the noise varies depending on which side of the building your room is. My only gripes this time are no shaver socket in the bathroom (had to buy an adapter) and that the shower head doesn't come off the wall. Plenty of plug sockets in the room though, including next to the bed, big TV too. Rooms can get quite warm and stuffy at certain times of year, no air-con and safety opening windows. Again, this would depend on which side of the building you are on. There's a handy Co-op and a 24 hour McDonald's across the road, a Beefeater restaurant next door and a few other local...
Read moreI have stayed in Premier Inns throughout the country and have never had reason to complain but I would recommend giving this one the biggest bodyswerve ever .went to work this morning and when I returned I found my bag ransacked and my small jar that I put all my loose change from 50p upwards into each night lying open on top of my bag with all the contents stolen from it .Only about 15pounds , but the amount doesnt matter , you should be able to leave your belongings safely in your room , mine was hidden at the bottom of my bag and covered with my clothes . As this hotel uses keycards for entry and mine was at work with me then it means someone else has accessed my room using a master card . The manager was completely uninterested and told receptionist that I would have to report it to the police . Worst customer service ever . I have given one star as I wasnt allowed to post if I gave my true rating...
