23/03/24 - Finally managed to get back here to try the food. The menu is small, but there is a decent choice with additional specials most days. I opted for the Clayton Cheeseburger, which was very good; Juicy, tasty and with lovely onions. It was paired with skinny fires and onion rings both of which were really good too. To drink I had the Pubs only draft ale - Burrows Blond from Black sheep, it was ok. More choice would have been nice. My other half had a fish finger sandwich, which was also nice, with a nice homemade tartare sauce too, this was accompanied by a side of truffle and parmesan fries and some onions rings, which were superbly crunchy. We both had the sticky toffee pudding for desert, which was excellent. Hot caramel custard, the pudding itself and a scoop of very nice vanilla ice-cream. Top notch. In summary an excellent little pub with staff that are very friendly and welcoming and a very decent feed; having a single ale was a tad disappointing, but we'll definitely be back. 07/12/23 - Attended here for a post funeral do, it's been many years since I was last here but it seems to be a great little pub now. The buffet laid on by the pub was excellent, by far the best buffet i've had in a while, especially the corned beef pie and sandwich selection. The draft real ale selection was limited, but at least they had some. I stuck to the Black Sheep Session IPA. The pub got busier as the evening drew on with many coming for food, the menu is small, but seems worthy of a try. The food we saw coming out of the kitchen all looked good. We shall be back in the near future to try the food for ourselves.

We’ve been meaning to try food here for a while and were not let down. The menu changes weekly with the exception of the Clayton Burger, which is delicious by the way! Most dishes on todays menu came in at £10 or less so great quality and value. There are chain pub alternatives close by which don’t come close to the food available here and you can see the pride the owners take in their business. Thanks for taking care of us 2 Adults and 4 kids

We visited in the early evening. Quiz night is Tuesday. Busker's night is Wednesday. Staff advised that dogs are welcome at this pub.

2-9-21. A bar I haven't been in for a long long time. Just passing today and saw a sign, under new management, so had to look in. It is a proper bar inside, one good U shaped room but at the same time with separate areas. Very nice welcome when we went in and for the people who came in while we were there. It's a new venture for the couple who have taken it on so hopefully the locals will show their support by calling in to bring it back to a what it used to be like. It will be open 7 days so even it you just want a coffee while waiting for a bus (bus stop right outside) go in, and if you're passing in your car stop off. There is a beer garden at the rear, didn't have a look so...

Perfect perfect perfect. I wish I lived closer to this place.

We went on a Saturday afternoon but we got a table no problem. The menu was absolutely incredible, I was spoilt for choice. Even more incredible was the food. It felt like I was eating something much more expensive than it was! The service was always spot on too. Really friendly and fast.

The pool table was great with plenty of space around it. And only 50p (Nov 2023)!! And there was sport on the big screen, but not blaring away so the atmosphere was still very country-pub-like.

In summary, it was amazing. Highly...
