We celebrated my Birthday with a trip to Preston Grange Miller and Carter. Ample parking, which is always a bonus. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our seats and informed that Charlotte would be our hostess for our meal. Charlotte promptly arrived and gave us menus and enquired whether there was any dietary requirements or allergies, an extremely important issue these days. We placed our starter orders of Salt and Peppered Squid and Baked Cheddar Mushrooms, together with our mains of Surf and Turf Fillet and Pork Tomahawk. Both starters arrived piping hot and were very much eagerly devoured, an excellent start, washed down with a nice pint of Neck Oil. I selected the Rich Red Wine sauce and signature butter topping to accompany my Fillet and Lobster, and the Spicy Burnt Chilli Onion dressing, both were absolutely delicious and worked extremely well together. The Tomahawk pork came cooked to perfection for my wife, melted in her mouth and so tasteful with the Red Wine sauce. During the meal, Charlotte was always in the vicinity and was extremely polite, engaging and very professional in her attitude, she is a valuable asset to the group. So to the dessert, Wow, We ordered the Crème Brûlée and Baked Cheesecake and what was brought to our table was a wonderful surprise, together with the Crème Brûlée, I was given a fantastic assortment of Desserts to celebrate my birthday courtesy of the Restaurant, I thanked Charlotte and asked that our thanks were extended to all involved. Overall, an absolutely wonderful dining experience and we will look forward in returning very soon, Thank you all for a...

First time to Tynemouth Restaurant impromptu visit. Didn’t inform us of their Steak & Cocktail Summer Exclusive £20 had to ask if they had any specials before given details we opted to try this. Unfortunately the steaks were chewy & I had jaw ache so left most of it. Served with iceberg lettuce qtr with nice dressing of my choice, greens nice & battered onion. My partner’s cocktail Strawberry Sling was nice but mostly ice & couldn’t taste any alcohol. My expresso martini again was lovely but couldn’t taste any alcohol. Jess our server was lovely & came to our table often she said as my steak was only half eaten she would speak to the chef the manager arrived & said she had examined the steak & it was of a poor quality & would be sent back to their suppliers & she would not charge for the steak. Our bill came & generally we just look at the total & if about right we pay however this time we checked the detail & it was incorrect as they had not applied the offer & charged for the cocktails but had only charged for 1 steak. The second bill arrived with £7.25 discount but again charged for the cocktails however we just paid as hate to complain. On leaving the restaurant we bumped into some friends & discussed our experience they said go back & ask to speak with the manager which we did & she removed the 2 cocktails & refunded the charge. We will go back & try again as the staff were lovely & it is on our doorstep but next time pay the extra if we want a better...

The food at Miller and Carter is always delicious and this visit was no different! What really let our visit down was the service. We were one of 3 tables in as it was a very quiet day, but it still took a long time for someone to come take our drinks order, which we didn’t mind at first because the lady that served us was lovely. There was however then a long wait between the starters and main (we were there over 2 hours for two courses). During our visit we noticed all of the staff were stood together in a clump talking about ex employees, their upcoming holidays, how they owed each other money which they then stood on their phones to transfer money to each other. After dinner we were given a desert menu, and we made eye contact so many times with the staff who were still stood as a group. It got to the point where there was no staff around apart from in the group chatting. We got so frustrated and fed up that would couldn’t flag anyone down for dessert so we just got up and paid (we couldn’t flag anyone down for the bill so went to the bar). I appreciate customer service staff and the work they do, having done a lot of it myself - but the service was just wasn’t excusable at all, i’m assuming because it was a slow day but we should be treat the same as people who come in for dates or celebrations etc as that seems to be when theres good customer...

I know this is a steakhouse, but let's be honest, some of us are non meat eaters, but still want to visit with friends! Like everyone else, been looking forward to coming here since it opened. Admittedly, the steak my friend had did look amazing! But like I said, I'm not a meat eater. I did have the Sea Bass though and it was Delicious! I've been to a lot of restaurants with different levels of quality, and thankfully, I can say this wasn't just pretentious for the sake of it. It really was very good. I'd very happily order it again. So although it's a steakhouse they have catered good quality alternatives for those that don't want to miss out visiting! Also, it's a very well presented restaurant inside. Nicely designed. Something good i noticed, the restaurant didn't smell of meat. There was no lingering meaty smell that you find in other meat establishments. This is a huge plus for non meaters!

Nice surroundings, nice food and compliments to the chef. Waiting staff very attentive and hats off to Charlotte W, who was training new staff and keeping the clients happy at the same time. I gave only 4 stars because consistency is key in the restaurant business. If I'm paying £100 for a table of two I expect at least consistant portions. The lettuce wedge which is the signature dish of Miller & Carter was anything but consistent. Photo attached. I'm hoping this was just a teething problem as the restaurant has just opened. This won't put me off going back, but hope management listen to feedback. UPDATED: April 17, 2024. I have provided ample time for you to reconsider your response to my review. The fact that you did not address my concerns and instead chose to respond with a generic message indicates that I will no longer patronise your business. School boy/girl/other type of person error.
