Table booked on a Friday 2 hours before whilst driving. Staff welcoming and attentive without being in your face. Fairly pleasant environment although table was split and chairs a bit wonky. Sharing platter of ham, olives, bread, salad was pretty big but good other than bread was far from fresh/crispy and given it was a sharing platter everything needed to be doubled up ( I.e. one half of a tomatoe). Main courses are large (steak and haddock) but steak and haddock was really good with hand cooked chips a bit soggy instead of crispy. Not a bad price for a good meal. I would go back and I'm pretty fussy. Improve chips (crispier/drier) and this would be 1 point better. Fantastic service tonight with great food. We had a bit of an issue with a vile customer who was harassing us and making us feel uncomfortable and the staff dealt with it brilliantly and even went to speak to the customer to clear the air. They were only young but they were professional and even offered us a free drink (we turned it down as the situation wasn’t their fault and we felt bad for them). Unfortunately the vile customer wouldn’t drop things and went back to the bar to upset the staff. I’ve never witnessed anything like it. I hope the waitress he was speaking down to reads this and knows how grateful we are for you having the confidence to deal with the situation, you did great. We had a table booked for 12 today to watch the Carabao Cup Final. Food was pre-ordered days earlier and was served on arrival. The adults had Sunday lunch which was a great portion and incredibly delicious. The beef was on the right side of pink and very tasty. Lots of vegetables offered and plentiful. All of our group would highly recommend and will be back. Kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets and the brownie dessert. Very reasonable for the portion size. Can’t recommend enough - will be back!
