Very disappointing. We were there for a birthday celebration and the service in the restaurant area was poor, long waits for drinks, missed and incorrect orders. The food was a mixed bag the hanging kebabs seemed to be well received but the steaks were poor and chips served cold. My sea bass main at ÂŁ19 looked attractive on the plate but the fish was poorly cooked and a portion size more like a starter, the fish cut up to disguise how little there was and a tiny amount of gnocchi. I also had an issue at the bar on arrival when served a pint of cask ale which was at the end of the cask and undrinkable. Was told they had to wait for the manager to confirm that it was off, left stood waiting for over ten minutes while the manager looked at the beer, went of and returned to take the beer off sale. All the time not a word was said to me and it took another member of bar staff a few minutes later to offer another drink. At the price point it's poor value for money and combined with poor service we won't be back

This is a great pub/restaurant. There's a brilliant menu and the food is amazing. We chose burgers from the 10th Birthday menu and they were fabulous! The staff are lovely especially Jimmy, the manager. They also host music nights with local bands. The Queen tribute band for The Pavillion's 10th birthday celebrations was a brilliant night out. Looking forward to more visits for food and band nights in the future.

I have been visiting the pavilion for over ten years and it has always been an excellent place for food. Food is tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. Upon my last visit however service was less than stellar with staff simply not checking on customers. Waiting 15 minutes to get a bill because staff are chatting is not acceptable. I hope this was a one off

Worst food ever served on a plate; had a sunday lunch with family for a bday celebration and i was treated like garbage when sent my pork roast back complaining about the gravy been so watered down, the Yorkshire pudding being so hard and dry, the veg assembled on a plate like they fallen on the floor and grabbed with hands and thrown back on the plate. The blonde spilt rude and ignorant lass who took my plate back came back to me after nearly 15 minutes saying that they didn't have any other complaints that day so dis-regard me like i was trying to sell cannabis....completely ignored my concerns as a consumer and ignored ignored the fact i totally dis-like the taste and flavourless food i was given and not even apologised to me. She did thought tried to buy my silent offering me a drink like i was some sort of alcoholic homeless tramp (which i guess she hangs around with a lot by her total lack of manners) trying to keep my quiet. I was in the middle of telling her that i didn't want any drink as the flavours of the food i as presented with put me off completely and i wanted a refund, and she walked away turning her back to us whilst in the middle of the conversation; the little minded, ignorant and rude spoilt pathetic kid. Worst service and customer care skills we ever experienced in the in the catering in the north east. Only talent she really wanted to show was her skirt lifted so high up that her backside was virtually on show.....very...

15/8/15-Birthday celebration. Drinks above the norm and meals overpriced (small portions). For these prices I expected fine dining, good service and surroundings but poor service and long delays gave poor impression. Waited over 1 hr for meal then we had to wait 45 mins before we caught a member of the service staff to take away the plates and to order dessert. About 5 mins later another member came and asked if he could take our dessert order!!!! I said it was taken 5 mins ago. Then 20 mins later the desserts for 5 arrived and the spoons were left on the table - 4 dessert and 1 soup spoon!!!!!!!! Throughout the meal we were sitting directly in the strong sunlight from the setting sun.No blinds or screens available so it was very uncomfortable sitting in the strong sunlight. Complaint was accepted by manager who addressed it in a professional manner by reducing the bill. He said they were grossly understaffed. Other customers were complaining about the lack of service but the hard pressed staff were too young and inexperienced to cope with the volumes. It seems that management are willing to accept customers at the expense of poor service. Sorry but we will go to other...

I moved local to the pavilion few years ago and i was so happy when i found this beautiful place. First time I've been with a friend i absolutely loved it. They had this amazing sharing platter that was delicious. Always very busy and great atmosphere. Every visit after that just went down hill...☹️ the platter that i loved so much was different every time we had it... one day we were told they had problems with the chefs...holidays...short of staff in the kitchen.... long wait....till came back and it was off the menu☹️ but tonight....(20th feb) it was TERRIBLE!!!! My husband had the steak and ale pie saying that was served with green veg and roast veg and literally had 4 tiny pieces of veg together on it ( very pathetic), my king prawn kebab was not only tasteless but definitely not what i had before. I don't know what happen but please bring the delicious food back. I really want to come back. It's a BEAUTIFUL pub, lovely location and nice clients and I'm sure it will still do well but definitely changed for the...
