Costa Coffee — Restaurant in North Tyneside

Arrived at Costa drive thru around 12:15 today, ordered a gingerbread latte & a red velvet Cake has I approached the drive thru hut, a gentleman with dark hair and stubble beard was preparing my gingerbread latte he placed the little gingerbread biscuit on top of the cup lid, and handed me the drink looking past me, At my partner I thought this to be a very strange thing to do, even more so when he said nothing at all, not a smile nothing thought. So ok I did not like the way that guy glared at us the way he did, kept it to myself, pulled away from the drive thru got to my destination after a very short drive tasted the gingerbread latte and it was nothing like a gingerbread latte should taste it had orange bits floating on top, when I took the lid off, I drove back to the same Costa, parked my car in the car park, walked in and spoke to a woman that worked the till, she clearly remembered me just moments before in the drive thru, she knew that I ordered a gingerbread latte, I took the lid off my cup and said what do you think this is.? She replied not a gingerbread latte, she apologised for this and offered me a replacement gingerbread latte which was the real deal, My point being this has happened more that once with this guy, the last few times I have pored the coffee out and not bothered returning but it was which way the guy conducted himself whilst serving me today that got me, very strange indeed, it doesn’t end here, I then called in again to the same Costa to use the loo and buy a bottle of Diet Coke, same guy in question served me at the till inside, I placed the bottle of coke on the counter he hesitated, before asking me in a very sarcastic way, will that be all, it clearly was all or I would of said so, I shook my head and walked out, this guy is very strange indeed I can’t see myself going back to be honest, especially when it was confirmed to me today that I wasn’t the only dissatisfied, customer that had passed through his hands yeah,...

Usually love this Costa as it’s so convenient and great quality drinks/food. Have been getting the festive drinks at the drive thru since they came out and haven’t had the chocolate orange sweet or gingerbread (that are supposed to go with the signature drinks) yet! On the odd occasion they have given me a chocolate coin which I am assuming is to replace one of the missing items? Whilst this may seem trivial, I feel it is Important that customers are getting what is advertised/they are paying for as this is part of the drink. Surely it’s as simple as ordering more to ensure they have stock (there is a B & M over the carpark that was stocking chocolate oranges all over the Xmas period) The girls that work there are so professional and friendly so this is not a deflection of the brilliant and hard work they always do with a smile but the issue is more around...

As per Costa the food and drinks are standard fare and most of the staff are generally friendly. However, a few things spoil the experience: the noise is way too loud, from the machines, music and people especially when busy. Can only think the building deflects much of sound back to ground level. The counter is way too narrow, considering multiple people are being served at the same time and the trays are precariously balanced. Getting from the counter to your table when the place is busy is awkward and dangerous. It's a slalom to get to several of the tables and worryingly so, because carrying hot drinks could easily be spilled on seated customers. It's all very strange considering this is a dedicated...
