Hi today I visited plank and legit Tamworth road sawley, my daughter 10 and two friends and there daughter 5.we sat down for food and all was well bar staff helpful and polite . Until we took the kids through to the play area at around 10 to six its open till 7pm but my daughter was refused entry by a very rude member of staff that insisted she was to tall to enter the play area. I personally stood my daughter next to the height restriction board and yes she was in line with it not over it. The girl insisted she could not enter .I said to the member of staff she is in line with the measuring bored she insisted she needed to be below it .I dont see the point in having a height restrictions bored if your not goin to follow it . She then used the excuse she needed socks we had socks with us but the girl insisted my daughter could not go in .so I had a upset ten year old very disappointed as we had traveled here so she could play with her friend witch resulted in having to play on her own .the member of staff that served us to add insult then sat down with her boyfriend and kids and had a little girl playing in the under 5s who was over 5. And turned to her boyfriend and said I was hoping I was goin to be out of here for six .so that tells me that she only didn't let my ten year old in hoping that if she turned us down we would all turn around and she could knock off earlier. We had two disappointed kids because one had to play by her self and the other had to sit and watch .I belive it's very disrespectful and spiteful of the staff member to do that to a child just because she hoped to knock of earlier .the place was empty no other customers in there apart from the staff members children so no harm would of bin caused she used all the excuses she could she was hoping to get off earlier . My daughter was only here 2 weeks ago with her friends mum and had no issues entering so maybe the staff member needs to be taught some customer service skills .will not be returning because as a its supposed to be a children friendly pub we came away with a upset...
Read moreFood was good.. Table service was poor and rather disappointing as we had stater plates along with main and also sweets. So with a party of 6 it was a huge pile and not once was it cleared.
Now onto the most outrageous and disbelief out of everything. We had booked our table over 5 days ago, all so we could use the soft play with two young children. Which I was told they could use after we had our meal. The 2 kids had been so excited to use the soft play area as that was the whole point in traveling all the way from Derby. To my absolute shock and both children being so upset that they are still crying while I write this message. The excuse used to deny these children access was a double party booking. Which would be fine if we had been told this and not told we would be able to use it as soon as we've eaten.
All in all the whole experience was unacceptable and extremely cruel on two kids who where looking forward to this for days. Not only have we wasted money on 6 peoples food, only to be surrounded our dirty plates. Then we have to console 2 children who don't understand why they can't play but Ive traveled all that way to be disappointed from start to finish.
This could of been avoided if the person who took the booking explained the situation with the play area. Instead I was mislead into booking something which was always going to be over booked due to two parties.
I look forward to hearing off you and should I not I will drat a letter to your head office and share the pictures of the table and the two kids who's disappointment is truly sad and...
Read moreHaven’t been here for a few years so we thought we would go for lunch, it was a family meal for four adults.
I use a wheelchair, the blue badge bays are near to the entrance, good width of bay to get out of the car.
The journey into the venue wasn’t the best. The dropped kerb wasn’t level with the road and so a small step up caused me pain as I bumped over it. The path wasn’t too good either, they have used riven paving slabs, whilst this provides some slip resistance, it provides a really bumpy ride along the path to the restaurant causing more pain.
I had a trip to the accessible toilet, which wasn’t that accessible. The problem comes from creating a shared accessible toilet with a nappy changing area. When there is shared use the room needs to be larger or better laid out. There wasn’t room to turn my small wheelchair around because there was a large bin for used nappies on one side and the nappy changing table sticking out on the opposite side.
So if you want to change a nappy you are well catered for, but if you are a wheelchair user you might struggle.
The meals arrived, fairly average pub grub, all nicely microwaved.
My wife had gammon steaks around 20% of which was fat. I have a food allergy and so have to be careful what I order. Unfortunately the food which I am allergic to found it’s way onto my plate. I didn’t see the contamination until I had eaten food which was on top of it, now feeling quite ill.
Overall, not the...
