The Nags Head — Restaurant in Erewash

I booked a table last night in hope to support the new management. One of the meals was diabolical. Chilli con carne with rice or chips, nachos and sour cream. What was served was not even average and lacked a lot of effort from the chef. No nachos to be seen. I raised my concern with the waitress and stated I was not happy and that there were items missing. The nachos then arrived - nachos with a vile warm cheese sauce. This whole event put a very dampening vibe on the rest of the evening. I am a great supporter of local establishments but as first impressions go, this was atrocious. We visited The Nags Head for Sunday lunch to celebrate my Dad’s birthday, and it was a lovely experience. The food was hot, wholesome, and full of flavour, with a great choice of meats. Everyone loved their meal even our little one, who was happily served chicken nuggets without any fuss. We were a group of 9, and everything was smooth and well organized. The service was warm and very accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with lovely staff who really helped make the day feel special. Sorry to say today's experience was bad overcooked omelette twice filling like a pizza topping. 8oz steak burger more like a 4 oz smash burger over cooked and dry. Cujin chicken as thin as a cracker and grilled to death. We have been patrons of the nags head but after what we were served today its in question. Plus 1 of the landlords stood right in front of us and didn't introduce himself. I wish the staff the best and hope they stop cutting corners with the food and deliver what we expect from this...
