Caffè Nero — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

We popped in yesterday for coffee and a cake and I was astounded at how filthy the cafe was! With three staff members behind the counter, and only my husband waiting to be served, I had to clear and clean a table before we could sit down, also pick through and wipe cutlery, before we could use it. The glass front of the cake display on both the inside and outside was disgusting and needed a good clean, and the cake tasted like it had been sat there since Christmas Eve! Although there were a few customers in the shop, there was plenty of opportunity for the staff to be clearing up and at least attempting to make the place look clean and inviting. The coffee/mocha was good as was the brownie but the place lacked a bit of tlc. Dirty windows outside. Dirty windowsills inside. Tables need cleared quickly if you don't provide a station for customers to help out by returning their cups etc when finished. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. update passed while walking the dog a few nights ago. Pleased to announce staff were busy cleaning the place. Windows spotless inside and out and the grime on the interior window sill/cill was now gone. Do the people that matter really read these reviews and react....im saying they do....well done. Keep up...

This one star is for higher management. I'd give the staff 10 🌟 I see continuing over worked staff, Staff not staying long in this employment, Staff do not get any time to clean any of the fixtures properly, Cobwebs, splash marks from spills, a 12 hrs shift with 2 x 20 minutes break. I have a suspicion that greedy cafe nero just like to go with the flow, instead they should focus more on better staff care, and more staff at that. Either that or employ cleaners to directly pop in and clean fixtures and fittings. I give all staff a thumbs up, How you are managed needs...
