So disappointed! My son and I booked an early table, at short notice, this evening and we had high expectations based on reviews we'd seen. We ordered from the set menu - paté and fish cake to start, spaghetti bolognese and lasagne for mains... how could it go wrong? But it did - terribly wrong. My son's paté was fine except there wasn't enough bread for the paté - he could have asked for more, but he didn't. My fish cake was too hot in places and cold in other places - clearly microwaved. My son's spaghetti bolognese looked like a mess on his plate. He ate most of it, said it was OK, but that's about it. My lasagne was just mush. The chips were over cooked and the lasagne, served in a terracotta-type bowl was so hot - it was still cooking in that bowl 10 mins later. I ate it as I'd not eaten anything all day, but it was honestly the worst lasagne I've ever had. When my son was paying the bill, the waitress asked if everything was OK. We said yes, but when the payment was processed, I said - actually no, the lasagne was over-cooked and was mush. It went completely over her head and we noticed that she didn't go to the kitchen to relay my comment. I specifically didn't give my comments until the payment was processed as my son was treating me to the meal, but I would have hoped there would have been some apology for the poor quality of the meal. Other than that, service was good, though way too quick - which comes with the use of...

Mediterranean dinner at Chef and Manager in Newtownards near Belfast. It is one of those places that do not exist on IG, yet known to locals and is always fully packed. We were so lucky to have got recommended it and to actually manage to get a table on a Friday! The food was exquisite, the flavours, the presentation, the staff, everything was done with extra care. One of those places when you feel the owners take it upon themselves to ensure you enjoy every detail. . What you see here is duck breast, so tender! Laid on some veggies, and a selection of sauces. Each of them takes you on a different journey. Second main was a rack of lamb (mint crusted), it had a charcoal flavour and the taste was complemented by Mediterranean veggies. Both dishes came with potato gratin. . For starters, we had beans soup and goat cheese fritters with beetroot and bread. I was so tempted to go there again during...

Over the past month or so we have been twice and we have a lovely voucher to go from our daughter and son in law . The welcome is warm and you are taken straight to your table The menu follows quickly and drinks are offered which are served in a timely manner The menu is not extensive which is the way we like it. You don't need to do everything bit you need to do everything well They do not disappoint. The food is good quality ingredients well prepared and cooked and presented beautifully. The rest of the meal follows the same route. We have enjoyed both our visits and can now use the restaurant more often as we live in the area. It does not matter when you go I think you will always be made...

I went to Chef and Manager and ordered Sirloin and chips. All locally sourced. Food was excellent but had to wait very, very long time for one bottle of peroni when it should be only a matter of a minute from the fridge to the table. A 2nd request was made but again they forgotten which I had to ask the third time at which point the staff said "oh you didnt receive the beer?" I said no i didnt otherwise i wouldn't have asked for a 3rd time. I assume the staff completely forgot.

Lovely meal with my fiancé. I had the chicken patê for a starter and my fiancée had the garlic bread with cheese, both beautiful. Then for main I had the prawn in garlic and spaghetti and my fiancée had the lasagna. We got some chips and garlic chips on the side. We had appletizers for refreshments and there was a bottle of chilled water on arrival and through the meal. Service was prefect and attentive.
