DISAPPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING FIRST AND LAST VISIT TO LINK 48

On Saturday 30th March we were meeting as a family for a meal. A good half way point seemed to be Link 47. That was the only part of our experience of which we can use the word GOOD.

First the car park at Crescent Link was bunged. There is one entrance / exit route to the shops and restaurants with about eight strands from the car park feeding into this one route. Traffic was bumper to bumper with drivers blowing horns, and not to mention the McDonald's drive THROUGH. It took at least 20 minutes to leave.

TRULY A SYSTEM NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE in our second city

IN between we had a most DISAPPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING Experience at LINK 47.

On Wednesday past (28th) we phoned Link 47 to reserve a table for our party of NINE.

We were told that was NOT POSSIBLE as Link 47 do not take reservations. Just turn up and, at 3.00 pm our requested time, you should have to wait, if at all, a max of 15 minutes.

We arrived at 3.00 to be asked by the manager, 'HAVE YOU A RESERVATION?' and to be told since we didn't we would have to wait 45 minutes!

When we explained that we had tried to reserve a table on Wednesday etc, we were told the restaurant did not take reservations then. HOWEVER, THE OWNER HAD INTRODUCED ONE SINCE THEN.

Needless to say we were not impressed and we took our custom elsewhere.

What business person would introduce such a change in this way? Why was it not introduced weeks from now when there would be little if any prospect of patrons finding themselves in the situation which others, like ourselves, no doubt found...

Very disappointed - as a loyal customer who would eat here 6+ times per year, myself and my partner ordered a takeaway this evening. Only to be met with an "order cancelled" message after 5 minutes.

My partner rang and spoke with Jack who was helpful. Jack proceeded to tell what I assume was a supervisor that the order failed (we could hear him telling her). A lady took over the call but we didn't get a name. She told us the order was cancelled but we could place another order. My partner said ok to that and asked would it just be a case the payment would cover the order tonight. It was at this point we were told no, the refund will be back within 2 days and we were expected to pay for another order.

Whilst I appreciate that we can't get the food for free, 2 days to wait for a refund is ridiculous. My partner then asked why was the order cancelled and the girls response was "the tablet". My partner asked was the tablet faulty of which we didn't get a reply. My partner told them to forget about it. The lack of empathy was shocking. As someone who manages a customer services team, it's a simple skill to adhere to in hospitality/customer service.

We won't be back in Link 47 which is a shame as we liked it but 2 days for a refund for an order that was cancelled through no fault of our own only to be told the reason was a tablet,...

Went here yesterday for the first time, waiting staff were lovely and very attentive lovely decor and nice atmosphere. We ordered two large drinks after being given the choice and waited for our food, my daughters food was nice (chips and goujons) and she liked it, me on the other hand not so much. As I'm not familiar with the menu I went for something which I thought would be faultless as it's easy to prepare, chicken escalope with mushroom/ww sauce, garlic fries and a side of onions. The escalope was tiny but well cooked, the garlic fries however were greasy and had a pool of butter at the bottom which I only discovered as I tipped them on to my plate which was now covered in it. The onions were greasy not light and crispy and the sauce was thick, gloopy and difficult to pour out of its tiny boat, the price of large soft drinks are extortionate also. Sorry not for me I'm afraid as I prefer quality over quantity, something so simple should not be that bad due to...

Called in to Link 47 for lunch on a busy Friday afternoon. We didn't book in advance but still managed to get a table. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, but I chose the Louisiana Burger. It came out looking like it was a portion for 2 people. The chicken was marinated in a cajun seasoning, which packed big flavour and was topped with chorizo, cheese, and salad. It was a good thing I had skipped breakfast. My partner went for the sirloin steak which was accompanied by onion rings, chips and mixed vegetables. The decor in the restaurant was very modern and the walls were covered in music and movie memorabilia. The staff were very friendly and both food and drinks were reasonably priced. It's a great place to fuel up before a busy days shopping around Derry. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back soon.

This was our first time going to Link 47 and we both found the place to be excellent. It is a great local dine-in restaurant with delicious cocktails and a full bar available. The service was very fast, we booked a table in advance which was good as the place was full at 7pm on thursday. The food arrived hot and was served very quickly. Excellent, tasty food, the salt and chili prawns and red pepper and tomato soup were really good starters and the blackened salmon and steak and Guinness pie were really well cooked and also very tasty. We will be returning soon.

My first meal at this restaurant whilst visiting family in Ireland after coming out of lockdown. Huge menu with lots of choice to cater for all tastes. Prompt table service Great quality and very tasty. I can recommend the grilled fillet steak, good quality beef, perfectly cooked, nicely presented and tasty We all enjoyed our meal. The 90 minute table policy worked really well and the efficient service meant that we had adequate time for a two course meal before we left the table.
