Visited here for the first time with one of my close friends during the middle of the week. We hadn't booked a table and waited in the lounge area for around 10 to 15 minutes prior to be seated. We both chose from the midweek menu which was very good value with 2 courses priced at £15.50. I had the root vegetable soup to start and peppered beef for my main (picture attached) and garlic potatoes as a side dish. Very tasty food with very good service. I was satisfied in terms of portion sizes and dont think I could have managed dessert. It definitely has a fine dining atmosphere with high back chairs etc but I think it also works well for a casual meal. This restaurant evidently has won many awards with the certificates displayed throughout the main dining area which is a nice touch. We never had wine on this occassion but they appeared to have a very good selection. We both found it difficult to park and I think it may be difficult to get a walk in table at the weekend. Overall, good food at a reasonable price in a well established restaurant . A la carte menu looked very good aswell. I'll be back

This restaurant is stunning. The owner and staff are so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the food they are serving. They make you feel like you are extra special guests which just makes the nigh more enjoyable. And well the food....what can I say...fresh, local, high quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. I had the scallops to start, the venison daily special for a main with gratin potato and the chocolate pave for dessert. It all looked and tasted amazing. We finished the meal with the restaurants own homemade lemoncello. The perfect way to finish a meal...light and refreshing with a slight kick. This restaurant is more expensive than other local venues but it is actually quite reasonable for the quality and experience of eating here. Three a la carte courses for three people. Three lemoncello, two bottled water and two cokes came to £143. A little pic of my daughters meal. Thanks Oysters x

Had a delicious vegan lunch with a friend (who ate vegetarian option). Soya milk was available for coffee afterwards but not sure if this is always the case. The vegan option was also substituted with a gluten free bap for me.

Yesterday I had the worst dining experience at this restaurant. It was a celebration for my mother and brother-in-law's birthdays. 2 from our party had made vegan orders, and the rest were eating fish or meat. We then had to wait an hour and 45 minutes before one of us had to complain. During this time, I asked the waiter for a bottle of water for the table four times, but it was never brought down. They had brought down tasters of ham and cheese balls, which we explained could not be eaten by 3 of our party. The waiter was confused by this, and to save further confusion, we sent the tasters back with thanks, even though they still had not brought down the water. By this stage, we were starving and everyone who had come in after us had been fed. I asked the waiter again to please bring water for the table, which she clearly ignored as I saw her walk to the bar and back to another table. I found this to be extremely rude and unprofessional. A member of our party then complained about the wait time for our food. The waiter explained that she would check with the kitchen and let us know. The waiter walked by our table multiple times with no indication of telling us how long we would be waiting. At this stage, the whole party was frustrated, and we complained a 2nd time. We were then told the food had not been prepared or cooked. We were extremely upset, and they offered "compensation" by not charging us for our uncooked meals but charging us for our drinks. DISGUSTING!

The restaurant will most likely reply to this review in an attempt to put the blame on us, as they have done with my wife's previous review, but at the end of the day, all we wanted was a meal to celebrate 2 birthdays, and this simple task could not be completed by this unprofessional restaurant. Don't let the multiple awards that they shove in your...
