“You just don’t expect a £60 bill when you go into a cafe, do you?” Yes, when the food comes at this price tag, it does require more scrutiny.

Our food was quite nice, but I don’t think it was worth the price. I had squid rings which while being good, were comparable to other establishments that do them cheaper. I liked the local emphasis put on serving Hamilton potatoes, but both the chips and fries were a bit soggy and anaemic and didn’t do them justice.

The price for non-dairy milk (only oat was available, don’t know if they only ever have oat or if they have more options usually) is 70p, about double the standard, and certainly more than the people who do it for free. I understand some of the reasoning behind the extra price but I’m lactose intolerant and don’t have much choice in the matter. My caramel latte was £4.30.

The atmosphere was that of a local cafe. We were seated facing a wall right beside the toilet. The staff started to clear up around us while we were eating, scraping chairs, despite not closing for another hour if I’m correct. I think if you’re trying to provide an upscale dining experience you should reflect that...

Today we visited the cafe, there was one member of staff who instantly took issue with us, dirty looks and an attitude. We sat down and ordered a flat white and a piece of chocolate cake. After seeing the cake on the counter, cut into lovely big slices I chose it instead of a tray bake with fresh cream… My friends also chose two flat whites and two custard tarts. Which turned out to be soggy sadly. The coffee was some of the worst coffee we have come across, needless to say it wasn’t drank, and my cake was a sad and sorry half a slice crumbled up on a plate with some cheap whippy cream on the side. (See photo) No one asked was everything ok, one member of staff was cleaning (which is to be expected in a busy cafe) whilst the other stood glaring at us making me feel very uncomfortable, Very strange behaviour. When we went to pay £9.95 for a flat white and the slice of cake. Absolutely crazy money. Sadly we...

I got a beefburger with bacon cheese and tomatoes and a lettuce in a flowers bap, with chips on the side which cost over £11.00. I was rather dissapointed with the meal l found it very distasteful ,the bap turned into a mushy mess once the juices from the tomatoes and beef burger soaked into it making it extremely difficult to hold never mind enjoy. The bacon was too salty each bite all l got was the flavour of salt. The chips were itself tasty I wouldn't like to experience that again. Although the staff seemed to be fiendly enough except one young man who seeme rather stiff to me as a customer ..my wife got scampi and skinny chips.which she enjoyed .my wife could see that l wasn't enjoying my meal and offers me some of hers to try and take away my bad taste. This burger l would definitely say on the scale of 10 l would...

Good range of tasty options on the breakfast menu. We received a very warm welcome from staff and were well looked after. Quality was good, not quite 5 stars but good enough! I judge my breakfast by the quality of the poached eggs and these were cooked perfectly, however the eggs tasted a little watery and lacked the depth of flavour some other bistros offer. Prices are similar, if not more than Belfast city centre bistros which was a bit of a shock. But we will return again for breakfast and hope to try the evening menu.
