First time here.... and won't be the last. Pre-booked for a Wednesday evening. In and seated straight away (just past the bar area) Staff were friendly and attentive throughout. Had checked out the vegan/vegetarian menu before we went (really pleased to have a decent choice rather than the usual risotto or burger!! ) Starters were bruschetta and tacos. Mains were girasole pasta (one vegan, one vegetarian) Food was amazing! So tasty. Decent portion sizes. Plates were cleaned!!! So above food plus 2x appletizers and 2x 0% totalled roughly £55. Well worth every penny. Thanks guys - will be back soon!!! Update October 2024 OMG the food is delish!! Wednesdays steak night (hubby not me 😆) Hubby said steak was cooked to perfection and no fatty/grizzly bits. I decided to try something different (5 vegan/veg mains choices!!) so I had the plum and cashew stir fry. Flavours were amaaaaazing. Service great as always. Thank you!! Nov 2024. Back again! Prawn and chorizo linguine, plum and cashew stir fry, pint of Tennants and a Bramble. £52ish I think it was. Soooo tasty. Service was good. Highly recommended 🙌🏼 May 2025 If I could come here every weekend I would! Honestly the food is amazing. They've changed the vegan/vegetarian options so went for something different tonight. And it did not disappoint. Food was full of flavour. Good value. Staff were attentive. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Thank you 😁

We had an odd experience here and left with the impression that the service doesn’t match the quality of the food. Upon arrival we were left standing at the “Wait to be seated” sign while we watched several staff behind the bar chatting with each other, casually moving glassware and seeming to be uninterested in new guests. We must have waited for at least four minutes while we watched several staff ignore us. Our ordering process was fine. I ordered a three course meal. The starter, bruschetta, was delicious. I’d order that again without question. The main course was lovely, a slow cooked beef with appropriate vegetables accompanying. When we finished our main, we waited 15 min for dessert to come. Then I got the attention of a wait staff, but not our server. I told her we were waiting on a dessert. She stopped for a moment and then said that the dessert I had ordered wasn’t available anymore. She apologized rather nonchalantly like it didn’t really matter. Then she wanted to know if we just wanted the bill. I chose another dessert and we had to wait again for service to resume. The food was good. The portions were generous. I wonder if the poor service is just because it was a Sunday night. If the service matched the quality of the food, this would be a terrific spot.

Situated right on the edge of Portrush city centre, this Gastropub was a welcome find on a cold and wet summer evening. We were treated to a warm welcome on arrival and seated in a busy restaurant area, this is clearly a popular venue. There is a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits on offer and the bar display is uncluttered and clean. It was a Thursday night and the atmosphere was warm with a nice buzz, the staff were kept busy but were very attentive. We had no time to wait before our drinks order was taken and the staff were also happy to give us 20 minutes to dry off and warm up before taking our dinner order. We opted for the Pulled Brisket Pappardelle and the Slow Roasted Daube of Irish beef. Both dishes were beautifully presented, served hot and were absolutely delicious, the carrots with the Daube were cooked to perfection and the sauce with the Pappardelle was rich with just the right amount of Parmesan. We paired our dinner with a bottle of Chilean Merlot, which was perfect for us. We enjoyed the atmosphere of The Quays and the attentiveness of the staff. We also appreciated the cleanliness of the toilets too.

I've been visiting this gastropup for a number of years now and it has become "our local" for some time now. Normally I have a great experience here, with the good quality of food, friendly staff including the door staff. However, after one recent experience I don't think I shall return. My partner and I called in for one drink last night which ended up on the floor and I also nearly ended up beside it. Basically the table we sat at was unstable and I accidentally wobbled it and knocked over my partners drink before we had even taken one sip, my partner hasn't sat down yet, we had literally been served our very first drink. To the point; we were charged for another drink and I asked why are we being charged and suggested as a gesture of good will for our repeat custom the drink be replaced. The waitress, without empathy blatantly said no and when I asked for her manager, David, to come and speak with us, they sent over another young waitress who immediately came over and started to feel the feet on the table before introducing herself. "Our table is fine, it's not our fault". She then proceeded to basically argue with us that it wasn't their fault and the drink will not be replaced. I didn't expect this at all and the manager didn't have the bravery to deal with us, instead he hid behind the young waitresses. I expressed my disappointment by the way we were treated and stated I shall not return if this is the way they treat the locals. We basically paid nearly £20 for two drinks with one of them on the floor and made to feel like a disrespectful drunken teenager that needs thrown out for being unruly, (I guess that's what they thought they were dealing with as we had witnessed a number of people being "chucked out" with police officers outside) . It's unfortunate that the staff seemingly are not trained in customer service because my partner and I used to enjoy...

"The Quays bar gets a 5 star !!!" Those are the words I said after accidentally walking into their staff party while looking for a bar to hangout in for the night. I walked in and they told me they were closed, but after hearing my accent when I apologized for intruding, they asked me where I was from. I told them I was in from Canada and lookin for a party, and next thing I knew the bartender was buying me a drink. The staff are all amazing people, they all welcomed me into their bar and gave me the experience of a lifetime as a young traveller. Whether it was talking to Collin about his own travelling experiences and various career wins, or hanging out with Shea while he walked me back to my airbnb making sure I was safe, and making a small detour to swim in the Atlantic ocean on the way. All of it was amazing and I can't recommend this bar enough. They have nice comfortable furniture, a warm dim light to relax in, and the music was phenomenal. Perfect bar to go to if you're looking to have a chill night talking, or if you want to party later into the night then they'll set you up for that as well. Like I already said, all the staff are great people, take pride in their work, and most importantly they know how to have a good time! I know that if I ever return to Portrush I’ll be heading back to the Quays to see all my new...
