Easter Saturday Meal! Luckily we got nice weather this bank holiday so we were able to sit outside on the front beer garden soaking up the evening sun! We got seated to our table in a timely manner and soon after placed our drinks order. There was a good atmosphere and it was very busy. The waiter was very pleasant and had a good small talk with us. We placed our order for starters, which was the calamari, and scallops and prawns (pics below). The calamari was cooked well and dusted with paprika, a little bit too much in my personal opinion, it was quite strong, perhaps a stronger garlic aioli to accompany it. The scallops were cooked perfectly, one was seared to perfection, the other I guess got stuck to the pan😂, only downside to this starter was the portion was a bit small, only 4 small ish prawns. Tasted amazing however. For mains we chose the sea bass and the beef rib. Both were very good. The sea bass has crispy skin and went well with the pancetta veloute. The beef rib was cooked well, not so tender you could cut it with a spoon. But pretty good. The dauphinois were delicious. I could have had a side dish of these if possible! The sticky toffee pudding finished off the meal wonderfully. Went away a very happy customer.

My partner booked a table for two for my birthday which they knew but I didn't. Louise greeted us at our table and instantly asked if it was my birthday and wished me a happy birthday and asked about my day. We ordered our meals and drinks, hunters chicken and pate starter (I dont eat alot) Aspall cider and a gin, cannot fault the food and that pate is sooo smooth and creamy and the triple cooked chips ate the best we have had! Drinks were reasonable priced and just how they should be. We then ordered dessert, sticky toffee pudding wasnt the best bit still very tasty and I had trio of ice cream and sorbet which is pictured, because they put a sign on the plate which was so thoughtful of my partner and the grange for organising! Overall price (which we actually worked out) was only £7 more than going to a cheap pub with bog standard food! So for the quality and the service it's well worth the money!! Overall service, you won't get better Atmosphere was lovely and quiet Been here a few times and still my favourite place!! Thank you!

Becker, who served us, made our experience absolutely superb. Was so impressed with her, friendly, warm, welcoming and very professional. Absolutely delightful lady and a credit to your business. So refreshing to see that some young people actually understand customer service that seems to be a thing of the past. Amazing building, beautiful decor. Great food, steak cooked to the correct temperature, which is also rare these days. Ample parking, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will recommend and return. Disappointed the cask ales were all off. That was one of the things that drew us to visit. Be interested to know the history of the farm as I had an interesting experience in the ladies that scared the hell out of me.....did someone take their life in that part of the house? Would not put me off coming back, will just have a wee in the carpark if I can't wait until I get home!

We walked in at 7:55 and asked, ‘do you have a table for 2?’, the manager (lady, blonde hair), ‘nope’. We went to the car checked the tables, and guess what the bookings very fully available from 8pm, so we booked our table at 8:15pm. Bit disappointed, that we were lied too. So we walked in with our booking, and we were seated right next to the toilet. There were two of us, and it was a small circular table, and there were three chairs at the table, the third chair was in the way constantly. As the manager (which I have described further up) walked past our table she moved the chair out of the way which resulted in the chair hitting against my leg, I didn't get an apology, and it happened a further 2 times again. We waited a considerable amount of time to order, and most things were out of stock (Fair enough, it was Christmas- not entirely their fault). I had also asked whether the meat and chianti casserole has mushrooms in, which she checked and said yes, however my partner ordered this dish and she found no mushrooms. So another lie. We waited I would say an hour for our food, and my partner found plastic in her dish which appeared to be from a food bag. They arranged for a new one to be made, the poor waiter felt like he had to come and apologise and not once did the manager come and check on us. They made it seem like they really went out of there way as a goodwill gesture by taking this off the bill, however I have experience in hospitality, and things like this automatically get taken off, and then you get a further gesture of goodwill. I finished one of my drinks, and asked another member of staff for another, he left and came back and said, ‘what did you ask for again?’, I repeated the drink order, and it took about 25 minutes to come. The excuse was, ‘our bartender was filling up stock, changing barrels etc’, having worked as a bartender myself it was unbelievable that my drink took 25 minutes to make. We spent a long time waiting for the bill, whilst the manager was cleaning a table adjacent to us, in the end we had to go up to the bar and pay. We were made to feel like an inconvenience the entire time, and they were going out of there way to make this as worst of an experience as possible, and this has happened far too many times and we shall not be returning to grange farm, we will visit the other vintage inns such as the red cow or the badgers sett (I would like to add we have been to both of the other vintage inns and have never faced the amount of mess ups as grange farm). I don’t know what has happened to grange farm, we used to come and there was a lady who was so enthusiastic, who would know right off the batt what was and was not in stock, who would pass you the menu and say just to let you know x,y and z are not in and apologise- hopefully she’s moved onto better things. It is shocking that no staff noticed and were too incompetent or lazy to move the chair, shocking that the manager didn’t apologise for plastic in the food, shocking that no apology was made about my drink, and shocking at the lack of good customer service there is. We arrived at 8:15pm, and didn’t leave till about 10:20 ish. I honestly wouldn’t waste your money...

Christmas Day Disaster!! Disgraceful! An absolute sham. We booked Christmas Day Dinner here, for 3 people. When we arrived at our allocated time of 3.30pm we could barely get through the door as the area was full of guests waiting to be seated. When we finally found the manager and asked about our table he told us it was ready ... We were seated 1 hour later! He was running around, appearing to avoid eye contact each time anyone asked him about their table. There were people who'd been waiting longer than us, people with young children and elderly family members! The slap in the face came when he tried to seat a table of 3 that had come in 30 mins after us 'youve been waiting long haven't you'! No they hadn't but we were. Before we were seated we heard from people waiting that guests had been waiting up to two hours for their courses. A women demanded a recieved a 50% refund as her party had been there for hours and still hadn't had all food served. Finally when seated we were told by The manager that service was running on time now! We had to ask for the table to be laid properly!! When seated we sat for 1hr + still no food...everyone around us that had been seated either before or after had not been served. The manager was no where to be seen. We waited, and we waited, food was coming out frantically but going everywhere else, even the floor at one stage due to a collision between staff! In the end one by one we all decided to leave, 6 tables some with parties of 7+ we obtained a refund from a women who was not the manager but sent out to deal with us - we were told! I felt sorry for her as she was getting all the frustration. Clearly the restaurant could not cope, the kitchen could not cope and ultimately and most importantly the manager could not cope and take accountability - an epic fail that was made worse by a manager who could not be honest (you should have told us service was running behind by 2 hrs when we all arrived); did not take responsibility (you should have been the one to offer us refunds and apologies); and booked too many people for Chrismas day dinner that you couldn't honour. I had been for Christmas day dinner at another restaurant last year and (not vintage inns) and had a wonderful experience, seated on arrival, food served on time. I'll never book at this restaurant or indeed a vintage Inn again - Disgraceful and...

After visiting a few times before and having a wonderful experience and lovely food so I decided to book this meal for as a get together before my son went off to travelling. Family of travelled two hours to meet for the meal so it was really important that we had a good time, hence why I booked somewhere trusted that would before When we arrived, my mum and her partner had arrived first and had totally been ignored then the rest of the group of that arrived and I mentioned to somebody after no one acknowledge us that we had a table booked. Once we had been acknowledged. the staff are very friendly , they said they were just getting the table ready that’s not problem at all. I understand they have been busy then we were shown to a table and asked if we like drinks et cetera by a very polite lady it’s quite a long wait for the meal, but we appreciate that as they were eight of us when the meal came out , they were all lukewarm if that apart from the burger and the macaroni cheese. The steaks were unable the chips were two as a loop warm to eat and enjoy so the lady gladly change them with not a problem at all. She apologise enough, but the members that had their food taken away some hot chips to keep them going because we were all eating so in that sense, it was dealt with rather swiftly. They replacement meals were a lot better and did not take too long to come out so although the meals we ordered at first were not acceptable how it was dealt with was really swiftly really politely, then they change the bill appropriately and gave us some discount, and in fairness, they couldn’t do enough for us , so although part of our experience was negative it was dealt with was positive so I would visit them again because I felt this was a one off hence sadly why I can’t give it any more stars. I don’t know if there was a lack of staff or change of chef or something could happen hence why this happened, but I have to thank the young lady that served us as she couldn’t have done enough, and she was gutted that everything that would come through...
