Ailyn’s Bakery — Restaurant in Oldham

I kept going to Gregg's just next door until one day I noticed this amazing cake in the window of this bakery (Ailyn's) next door. At the time I didn't think to buy one because I'd already bought my food. Next time I went I checked the front a bit too see what they offered. Not just cakes, but pizza and other stuff that Gregg's just mass produces. So I took a chance and went in. Not only did I end up buying 3 gorgeous looking homemade cakes and 2 pizza slices but they tasted amazing in comparison to that chain one next door. I don't go there anymore. I only visit Ailyn's. Oh yeah and all that food I bought? Came under £10!!! So not only is the food better, it's cheaper! Seriously people - stop going to the other one. Go to Ailyn's. The food is second to none (the cakes I can stuff 3 of in one sitting!!). But oh they are so nice! The pizzas actually have a taste to them as well instead of that microwaved rubbish slices they have next door. Ailyns is a proper bakery, with proper bakery food. The people I've been served by there are also really nice and helpful! I'd recommend them over...

It should be noted that in June 24 this place was issued with a 0 stars food hygiene rating, (only 2 places in Oldham have 0 stars) Major improvements are required with hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage and the Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene. Urgent improvement necessary with Management of food safety checks which are not in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety. I found a gem of a bakery today and I wasn’t disappointed. The shop is bright and clean and the staff are friendly and polite with a smile. My face lite up when I found out they were Romanian as memories came back to the time when I lived over there, they even make my favourite cake “Savarina” 😁. It’s a bit like a Rum baba. I couldn’t wait to get home to try it to see if it taste just like the ones I had in Romania and it’s exactly the same.
