We came here after reading the good reviews and after being recommended by our AirBnB hosts so we had high hopes.
We were informed early on that certain menu items were not a available as they were awaiting a gas delivery. This may have impacted other factors as well.
I ordered a full breakfast. The sausages were delicious, as was the black pudding. Unfortunately however there was no butter provided for the toast and the mushrooms seem to have been pre-cooked as they were very dry and chewy. We also had the French Toast which was nice, though we weren't expecting it to be served as a single 'block' of bread!
We sat outside and the environment was lovely, our dog enjoying being able to explore. The food, though the restaurant seemed quite quiet, took 40 minutes to arrive. Staff were there to offer drinks in this time which did arrive promptly.
We were not very happy however with the dog's portion of bacon from the dog menu. Whilst we weren't expecting a meal by any stretch, we found £3.50 for a small portion of pre cooked bacon to be very disappointing.
Overall, we were disappointed by the speed of service and with some of the food, maybe they were having a bit of an "off day"...
Read moreCame in here yesterday when we were doing the scarecrow trail as it was cold and my husband was hungry. Waiter was quick to show us to a table but asking for drinks orders while we were still taking our coats off, so I asked him to come back. Took my little girl (toddler) to the toilet and he came back while we waited a while in line for the 1 toilet. My husband was trying to wrangle the dog and sort my other child so he forgot to order drinks when the guy came back.
Once we were back from the toilet, he'd brought 1 child's menu and crayons so my kids were fighting over it..then sat for over 10m being ignored by waiting staff. Appreciate the waiter had come back so we waited awhile patiently, but waiting staff just kept walking past, serving people who had come in after us. It's an open kitchen so could see staff just messing around in the kitchen. Kids can't wait long for food and everyone was getting frustrated. The chairs were covered in food as was the floor so my dog was eating all the scraps. We really wanted to give this a go as it was our first visit to Diggle. There's just no excuse for ignoring customers. Lost...
Read moreFirst time visiting Diggle Lock at weekend. (Always attempt to book, it's super busy all the time!) The staff are really nice, the venue is very industrial but decorated nicely and homely. It is a very busy venue, I was surprised to see how busy it was... The menu is plentiful, so much variety and options. We had a little wait for drinks and food, but it was totally worth it! Everything was fresh and piping hot, and the portion sizes very generous. The food was absolutely gorgeous, we all tried something different and everyone was very happy (and stuffed) I feel if you was a vegetarian there would also be so many options for you too!) We had 2 lots of hot drinks, 5 meals and 1 side = £74 (due to a kitchen time delay, the staff generously gave us a small discount for the delay - we didn't think it was necessary but it was excellent customer service) the bill ended up at £64 due to this! Excellent value for money! We just tipped the difference.
We will definitely be back!! And the French toast and homemade hashbrowns are just worth a visit alone 😋 few pics below because everyone just...
