J W Buckley Ltd — Restaurant in Oldham

Fabulous bakery! My friend and I often make a special journey to beautiful Saddleworth for Buckley's wonderful sandwiches (the ham salad is the best!), pies and pastries (oh dear! lol), amazing muffins (barms? 🤔), gorgeous cream cakes, mmm..(did I say how much I like this bakery?😊) and so much more. Buckley's are situated in the centre of the village, with lots of lovely independent artisan shops and a museum. There's a small parking area at the side of the building and we don't usually have a problem parking very near by (I would imagine it may be more difficult at weekends or holidays though) At busy periods you may have to queue outside the door but that's because Buckley's have such a great reputation as a really good bakers. They do fabulous pies. Seriously the best pies I have ever had. Well, to clarify, the cheese and onion pie is equal to other homemade cheese and onion pies you can get in the oldham area, at chip shops, and I highly suspect these are the best cheese and onion pies in the world. However the steak and onion pie is unique to Buckleys as far as I know, and world beating I'm sure, and the meat and potato is not bad either. Cannot recommend this place enough. It has been a long time since I had anything from here (due to moving away from the area) and it brought me back to my childhood especially when Buckleys 1 on Church Road existed. When we go camping with my mum, Buckleys muffins is always 1st on the list for those bacon butties and general journey snacks.
