Never been before but the pictures looked lovely and they allow dogs so we were really looking forward to our visit. On arrival we realised we had to pay a parking fee which I thought was bad for a pub car Park so I drove a little further up the road and parked for free. The outside of the pub was lovely and situated right next to the canal so we sat there to enjoy the view of the water, ducks and barges. There was a decent amount of seating but I can imagine it gets packed in the summer. The tables have QR codes so you can order food and drink from there rather than queuing at the bar. The menu looked good with nice vegetarian options. A little expensive but not much different than most places these days. I ordered garlic mushrooms for starters which came without salad . I didn't enjoy them at all, the breadcrumb was far too hard, it was like crunching stones. I just ate the mushrooms and left the rest. Next came the hand stretched ,stone baked pizzas. On arrival they looked really nice but they had used cornmeal under the base which I hate, it's messy and makes the dough tough. There was far too much thick tomato base which overpowered the cheese, we had to scrape loads off as it was all we could taste. The fries and onion rings were all we actually liked. The inside was nice and had plenty of seating with wooden floor areas you can sit if you have dogs. The toilets however were filthy. I was disgusted to see faeces on the toilet seat which was running down the side, the others were full of paper and urine on seats, all I can think of for this is parents hadn't been supervising or cleaning up after their children but staff should be popping in to check too. So personally I wouldn't go here again for food but because of the lovely outdoor seating area I'd possibly pop in for a drink in nice weather. Pub 7/10. Food 2/10.

Went here for food for my nieces' birthday. Had better & more value for money at a motorway services, which is probably why the place was dead. We were the only people in there & everything was overpriced, especially the alcohol free beer. It costs me 60p/ bottle & was ÂŁ4.50 here! Rip off. To add insult to injury, I later recieved a parking ticket of ÂŁ100 for parking in the pub carpark!! (they don't tell you when you walk in) I guess they've got to make money somehow, they just rob it off you instead of earning it. Also when I went in to explain I'd been eating there and shouldn't have to pay, a large obese man with a graying beard was extremely rude, unsympathetic, and almost forced me to beg him to not charge me the ÂŁ100 for parking. Absolutely disgusting service, prices & borderline quality food. Also, boring lifeless atmosphere & if it wasn't for us, not a laugh to be heard...Such a shame, as a little customer service from the management, reasonable prices, no parking restrictions & better quality food, this place would be a nice place to attend. However, as it is, avoid this place at all costs! đŸš«

Absolute rubbish.. waited over an hour for food and received beans under a garlick bread that had quite clearly been recycled from another plate as we didnt order beans same with the sweetcorn..a childs cheeseburger with 4 strips of grated cheese on..the waffles looked like they had been warmed up lots of times.. a large burger that was no bigger than a childs burger and things missing that was listed on the menu.. chicken was smaller than the burgers.. no presentation whatso ever.. meals just thrown together.. complained along with several other people left name and number and still waiting for someone to get back to me over 6 months.. been here lots of times during lunch was great food and never had this problem as we did at night time

The experience was disappointing We are sat ourselves down as no staff to help us Walked over food that had been left on the floor Waitress with dark black hair came over I told her about goid on the floor she told me " it doesn't matter " She did clean it up after We tried to order but was confused with the number of different menus We ended up ordering on the app which again was confusing as things from one menu was not on or was from another The lady with black hair came over asked how many people we saud 6 she came back a dropped 6 knife and Forks on the table and walked off My friend asked if they had coloring fid the children she pointed to a sideboard which had a box with 3 felt pens and some part colored in Colouring sheets After we had eaten another lady brought 5 new packets of colored pencils out for the children to use. The children's area needs looking at the interactive screens are fab but the wall paper hanging off looks scruffy The disabled toilet set was not safe and I slipped off the side which with 5 slipped discs and a degenerative spinal condition did not do me any good The chicken burger I had was fine the French fries not great would be better if you can pick chips or fries and my friends chips looked lovely The chocolate cake with spray cream was very disappointing dry dry dry even added friends icecream it didn't help it

The lady with dark hair clean our table and picked up the biard my friends pizza was on and tipped the crumbs on her ( she picked it up like it was a piece of paper not palate food had been on) My other friend had a number of issues with her food and frankly if we had nit already paid we wouldn't have paid the whole bill Noone as how our meal was and the lady with black hair tried to take the child's icecream whilst she had the spone still in her hand.

Over all will not be experiencing...

We were a party of 5 adults who arrived at 12 noon for lunch. Whilst choosing our food my wife asked Barry what type of mushrooms were in the vegetarian Wellington and whether they were mixed mushrooms. She has an allergy to Porcini mushrooms. He told my wife that he didn’t know and that she’d have to look it up for herself on their website because it was policy not to give advice about allergens. My wife told him that she didn’t have a phone with her and he replied ‘everyone has a phone’. My wife replied that she might have to go somewhere else to eat. He replied ‘yeah, you do that!’ Our party, and other adjacent customers were shocked. I decided to try to find out about what type of mushrooms were in the dish. I couldn’t find a website address on the menu, only a statement that allergy questions should be directed to staff. I ordered the food for the other members of my party and asked about the mushrooms. The barman found the answer on the website and I after learning that the dish contains mixed mushrooms I decided not to order that dish for my wife. I thanked the barman and was collecting the cutlery when I decided to let Barry (the manager?) know that the question had been answered by the barman and that his (Barry’s) earlier unhelpful approach had been in contrast to the Barman’s helpful approach. Barry started arguing with me, accused me of being abusive. I returned to my table and a few minutes later Barry followed me anx said that we would be required to ‘leave the premises and would be refunded’. We decided to leave. Barry is a disgrace to your business and the gave the worst example of customer service I have ever witnessed. His staff looked embarrassed. I am worried that he might’ve given the helpful Barman a hard time...
