DO NOT GO HERE. After finally deciding to give this place a try, due to it's mixed reviews. I now write this review after having gone to the bathroom 3 times with loose motion since eating here around 9 hours ago. I had the special offer meal, whole peri chicken, wings, chips and drink. The food was served in under 10 minutes which in retrospect, should have been a red flag. I guess I was distracted by the price of £10 and my hunger, the food itself was okay. Nothing special but quantity over quality I guess considering my current bowel movements. The place itself was fine, a good size, with a sink available to wash hands (something I always appreciate) and a toilet (which I didn't use so can't comment on it). But ultimately, I don't go out to eat, only to spend the next few hours with stomach aches and loose motion. It's disgusting and whatever practices are going on behind-the-scenes at this place, whatever they may be, that has caused me to have such an uncomfortable experience, that is now at risk of ruining the rest of my weekend, should be dealt with quickly. I will not be returning for obvious reasons, and if you wish to keep any future customers brave enough to enter that door like I was, fix your...
Read moreI always order the "Special", which consists of a full chicken, 5 wings, chips/rice and 2 cans of your preferred drink. The chicken is always tasty and the fries are always crunchy, which is why I always go back to Piridesi. It's quite a hefty meal, so if you're not a big eater like me, you may need to share.
I've ordered other things in the past, including, but not limited to: Masala fish, various starters and a selection of their traditional dishes (curries and the like) and I've been satisfied with them all. My only niggle is that the Masala fish is a little heavy on the colouring and onions.
There is adequate parking opposite the restaurant. You can comfortably park 10 - 15 cars in the designated spaces. You can book a table over the phone so you're guaranteed a place when you arrive. The food is served reasonably quickly and there is always a waiter on hand to see to your needs.
Piridesi is a great place for families. My only gripe is the cramped seating when the restaurant is exceedingly busy. You may need to shuffle around to let people pass. This isn't a deal breaker as the food is top notch and the service is...
Read moreFirst time coming here after my cousin recommended it. The place is quaint, not a big place, but it was cute. We went late afternoon just as it opened so the place was empty. We got to sit wherever we wanted. The menu is extensive. They do all sorts. I got the piri beef steak platter, which came with rice, chips, salad, and coleslaw. The server said something about sauce, but I couldn't understand, so I just said yeah. She was trying to say that the dish was saucy, and if that was ok, no, it was not ok. Because I was disappointed with what I was presented with. I expected my beef to be cut up but it was basically cuts of thin tough beef drowned in a tangy sauce, I had to scoop the sauce into another dish just to minimise it. The only good thing on the plate was the seasoned rice, I really liked it. I also ordered a mango mojito, but it didn’t taste much of mango, and the lemon and lime bits kept getting stuck in the straw every time I took a sip. If I ever go again, I think I'll order something different. Also, the place...
