Grand Millon — Restaurant in Oldham

Our night started bad and ended worse, will not go there again. Booked in advanced and on the booking told them we were using a meerkat code for 50% off the price of our food. On arrival was met by a member of staff, explained we had a booking for a table of 6, his response was you're late but we've saved your table. We arrived at 6.40 for a 6.45 booking. The restaurant was dead !! This immediately our backs up, but we were shown to our table when once again I told the waiter we had a meerkat code. Ordered our food which being fair was nice. Service from our waiter who checked us in was pretty poor, but a second waiter spend a few minutes giving us a recommendation which was good. We ate out meal, table was cleared and we ended up waiting for the waiter to return and ask if we wanted desserts, a couple of us would have done but wasn't asked and eventually ran out of patience. We asked for our bill, again saying we had a meerkat code to be told we cannot use it because we hadn't had a starter and dessert!!. The terms and conditions on the meerkat site does not state this and it seems the restaurant have their own rules around this. On complaining the waiter knocked 15 quid of a £130 bill which I was not happy with and went to speak to the manager. The manager backed up the claim that we were out entitled to the discount because we didn't have the starter and dessert and when explaining to him that we should have been told when we arrived, he said the staff member was a bit deaf and probably did not hear us. I also commented re the rude staff member on our arrival, and he said he was probably joking, when he asked the staff member he denied saying it. All in all we got £30 off the bill, not what meerkat code entitled us too, and 6 unhappy customer's who will not return to this restaurant. We went here on Xmas Day (2024). Our table was booked on the 4 o clock sitting. We got sat down and it was almost an hour before we even got a poppadom. We then waited another 45-50 mins for our starter to come out. Remember we have been sat at our table 2 hours now. We were all starving. It was getting on for 6.20 and we had to ask where our main meal was and let them know we wasnt happy. Inbetween all this we were waiting over 20 minutes for drinks once we had ordered them The main meal finally came and although we all had different (there was 7 of us) all you could taste in the meals was salt. They were disgusting. The table next to us had the same problem. I went to speak to a manager (little Penfold) letting him know and said it had ruined our Xmas Day and he just smirked. He didnt say a word. There was no apology, nothing. He was extremely rude and was not bothered at all that we left his restaurant nearly three hours after arriving having only eaten a poppadom and our starter. We paid for drinks but refused to pay for our meal as did the table next to us. We have been here for a meal many times before but after the way we was treated and the disgusting meal they served us, I wouldnt step foot in here again even if it was free. The Sunday deals is 5 course meal of which we didn’t get I had pompdom and we 20 mins for the chutneys the waiter forgot to bring them out and then I had a mixed starter there no sheek kabec on it and a korma curry with no sundries so I was given some chips from my grandchild when we arrived we had booked for 16 people and was told that we wasn’t booked in it was not a very nice experience altogeth your staff know myself and my family we have been going there for years and no coffees or ice cream at one point you got both and then you changed it to a coffee or ice cream so this time I was disappointed you advised 5 course meal 4 people for under 55 pounds and the bill was a lot more I do understand that you charge for the drinks I separately but this absolutely disgusting I never thought that the million would treat regular customers who have been going in your restaurant for years I did mention it to your waiter I was told it was for 3 course not 5 course there was no point in arguing it was my nieces birthday bash and I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of her and ruin her night I didn’t tell your waiter that I would be writing this but didn’t seem to bothered not very happy...
