Sweet Obsession Gelato Oldham — Restaurant in Oldham

Been to this place for desserts around 7-8 times now and every time everything has been spot on. I've been both with family and with friends and everyone has always enjoyed it here. The decor is very nice and seating is ample. Staff are excellent, pleasant and helpful. Will go the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied. The menu is varied and there's something for everyone. The ice pan is a kids favourite and they are mesmerised in watching their ice cream rolls being prepared, think of it as a free entertainment and baby sitting service 😁. It normally takes around 15-20 minutes for the food to be readied after being ordered, which is reasonable amount of time.

Out of all the dessert places we've been too this is in a league of its own, the main difference is quality and consistency of the food served. Everything so far has been spot, be it a classic dish such as a apple crumble with custard or a modern ice pan roll it always hits the sweet spot.

Only one downside I've come across is the parking. It can get very busy at times and there are no marked bays. People tend to block other drivers up rather than parking nearby or waiting for a space to become available. Not completely the management's fault but it would help if they marked out bays along with keep clear/no parking zones. Just want to reiterate this is an occasional issue and on the majority of occasions we've come across no issues.

Extremely Disappointed – Misleading Doughnuts

I’m genuinely disappointed with the doughnuts I received. They were advertised as Biscoff and Ferrero Rocher, but neither resembled those flavours in the slightest.

The Biscoff doughnut had no Lotus biscuit, no crumbs, nothing that even hinted at the flavour. The Ferrero Rocher doughnut was just as bad—no hazelnuts, no chocolate filling, no signature topping. Just plain doughnuts with a drizzle of chocolate and powdered sugar.

This felt like a lazy attempt to pass off generic doughnuts under popular names. My kids were excited, and ended up really upset. When you promise indulgent flavours, you need to deliver—not just slap on a label and hope no one notices.

I travel from Doncaster to Oldham every Friday evening with my partner for the same Sundaes and Tango Ice Blast. Whilst you can get ice blasts at various outlets, for some reason, nowhere does them as nice as here. As for their Mint Mayhem and Chocoberry Sundae 🍨 absolutely 💯 👌 We've tried other desert bars closer to us but none are even close to the standard as these. Due to current climate, we haven't been able to enjoy eating in, but it looks amazing, really well furnished and spotlessly clean.
