First things first: Ian knows wine. If you’re a newbie to wine, or if you’re seasoned quaffer who’s looking for something to please your persnickety palate, then you’ve come to the right place. Ian takes the time to find your perfect wine effortlessly and without the pretentious nonsense you get from some wine merchants. He’s also easy on the pocketbook so you don’t have to spend the earth for a decent case of plonk. I’m big on branding and details and he doesn’t disappoint. Each wine comes with handwritten notes on the label plus ideas of what to pair it with. Why not get out those pots and pans so you can make something to go with your wine? You already have the wine! The transaction was easy, the delivery was done by the man himself, and the wine was fantastic. I had a mixed case of white, red rosé and fizz and they were all delicious. I should’ve ordered 12. That Wine Cellar is an absolute gem! My husband and I aren't local to Delph but like to make a special trip to visit as often as we can. We just love spending a few hours enjoying some great wines in such a relaxed atmosphere, or attending one of the excellent wine events that are so fun, relaxed and informative.

Ian, the owner is incredibly friendly ,knowledgeable and welcoming, he's always ready to offer personalised recommendations and share his passion for wine that represents both quality and value. The selection of wines available is fantastic, featuring both popular favourites and unique finds....we tried a fantastic Lebanese wine from here!

I wouldn't have bothered speaking to anyone about wine to be honest because I know nothing at all and always thought that I'd be laughed at or belittled in some way by pretentious snobs, it's only because I know Ian that I left it up to him to put together a box for us based on the few supermarket wines that we liked and I can honestly say I now have a much deeper knowledge of what I like (still no general wine knowledge!) The food pairing suggestions are great and actually simple, no frogs legs or truffle this and that in sight! Waiting on our 2nd order now and would urge anyone to give it a shot and maybe enjoy something new, give that wine...
