We had our wedding reception at The Perch in August 2022 and I cannot recommend it enough! It was an incredible venue (where you can arrive on boats!) and the food was spectacular - guests are still raving about the menu and how much they enjoyed the sharing platters. Our reception was held in the marquee and it was a beautiful backdrop, even before our personal touches were added. The space was large enough to accomodate everyone without feeling cramped, and Emily went out of her way to ensure we could fit in all of our guests - which was no easy feat! It felt intimate and personal to us. I cannot rate Emily and her team highly enough. They made the whole process an absolute dream from day one. Emily supported us through the organising process and was so helpful and efficient. She was able to guide us through each stage of the planning process from their end, and we felt like we were in such safe hands. The reception ran so smoothly, with Emily on hand throughout. I could not believe the standard of service we received. The setting up of the marquee was all done for us, and I was blown away on the day. It was so lovely to see our vision actualised, and I am still amazed at the amount we received as part of the service. The option of arriving on boats drew us to the Perch and I am so so grateful that we chose it as the backdrop to our wedding day.

Singing the praises of this place! I visited The Perch today for the first time, and wish I had found it sooner! Our waiter, Frank, was an absolute credit to the pub. From start to finish went above and beyond to satisfy our needs, with a big smile and warmth. Our food arrived within less than 10 minutes of ordering, and was absolutely delicious! My partner and I are quite picky with our roast dinners, but we are so impressed with their beef and lamb roasts. Such good flavouring and generous portion sizes, and freshly served hot. The food arrived SO quickly, that our drinks hadn’t even had a chance to arrive yet (which we had no problem at all with) - but Frank gave them to us on the house for the inconvenience of them arriving after our food! Very lovely location and parking available too. Overall, blown away by this place and will definitely be seeing us again! Thank you again to Frank for making our visit so special. Also the carrots are not burnt! They are naturally dark in colour😂 And my plate looks quite empty as I requested no cabbage or radish sauce :)

I can’t say enough good things about this place. It embodies the idyllic cozy British inn at its best. The menu is a compilation of delicious and homey classic pub food, but elevated and often with a twist (e.g. vegan fall vegetable Wellington rather than beef). I have visited The Perch a handful of times now and every single time we’ve experienced great service, enjoyed every single dish, and overall had a fantastic experience. Vegan options are featured on their own menu and are as good if not better than the non vegan ones. The vegan Wellington, Sunday roast, roast potato side, and chocolate cake have been some of my favorite dishes. I also love the apple cider with rum they offer in Winter. In our latest visit Gwladys was our waitress and she was truly fantastic. The place was full and she was handling a huge group of about 20 people and yet still managed to not only pay attention to us but to provide top notch service. If you try one restaurant while in Oxford, this should be it.

We had our wedding reception at The Perch in June 2022 and I cannot recommend it enough. It was an incredible venue and the food was fantastic - guests are still raving to us about the menu! We had the reception in the marquee and it was beautiful. The space was large enough to accommodate everyone but also felt intimate and cosy. But most of all, I cannot rate Emily and her team highly enough. They made the whole process an absolute dream - so helpful and efficient, and always on hand for questions. Emily clearly has a huge amount of expertise and we felt in such safe hands - it honestly felt as if we had hired a wedding planner - she was fantastic. The team put everything together so perfectly. I was absolutely blown away when I went into the marquee for the first time when everything had been set up. It was everything I had hoped for and more. I am so grateful that we chose The Perch and so if you are thinking about it then absolutely go for it - we had the best day.

This is a beautiful pub. We sat outside for fathers' day and highly recommend sitting in the garden if you can. The walking approach from the river is nothing short of magical, feeling like you're entering some form of fairy glen. We passed the outdoor cocktail bar (which we'll be coming back for) and we were seated near the pub, surrounded by flowers in one of several smaller areas within the garden, which made the space feel intimate despite the scale of the garden area. We were served by Christian on his last day, and the service was fantastic (in fairness all of the waiting staff seemed great). Christian was knowledgeable, and the service by all the staff was attentive, quick, friendly and ideal in all respects. The food and wine were excellent, and the kids all loved their meals. We had a fantastic time and cannot recommend the Perch highly enough. They are dog friendly but the garden is extensive so it's easy to find dog free tables if that's your thing.

A lovely Saturday lunch. I was glad to see their own beer on tap - although I didn't go for it on the occasion as I fancied the Cotswold pale which I would recommend. I loved the choice of dishes on the menu; loads of interesting options. I went for the mushroom soup which was well seasoned and full of flavour. I had pig cheeks for my main which came with a celeriac purée. I enjoyed it although I felt that considering it was braised in sherry, I couldn't taste that particular flavour and the pig cheeks themselves were just a little dry. However, I think my 5 stars is because I tried everyone else's dishes and they were all delicious! We were also well looked after from start to finish - we had a baby and a toddler who were both fussed over by the staff. It is a little pricey but definitely worth the money. I didn't bring my dog with me on this occasion but it's great to know that they are dog friendly for a second visit as it's well situated for some good walks!
