Came here at short notice this evening (Saturday). Warm welcome and given the option of inside or outside dining. Decided on inside as quite a few insects about on my way over, but people outside seemed to have no issues. My friend and I both had the same starter and mains. This turned out to be a good choice as if either of us had had something different, the other would have been quite jealous because the food was stunningly good! For starters we had Pork belly and Ham hock terrine with pickles and toast. This was very good indeed and just the right amount for a starter as the main course to come was just outstanding! We then had our mains after a short wait. This was the Braised Tamworth pork ribs with BBQ sauce, grilled corn on the cob, house slaw and fries. The meat just fell away from the bones it was so tender and tasty too. It made me wonder how the Chef managed to keep the rack of ribs together when plating up as they came apart with such ease. The meat just melted in the mouth. The sauce was not overpowering and complimented the meat well, as did the sweetness of the grilled sweetcorn. The fries were also a good match as chunky chips would have bulked you out too much. Sadly we had no room for dessert..... All this and three drinks came to less than £55 !! Deffinatly recommend Jacobs Inn. Will be back!!!!

The atmosphere was lovely, but food was not really good. My BBQ pork rib was served not even warm (I would not say cold either) and was bit hard and dry to eat. Pulled pork burger was also served not that warm.. If I had experience until this moment, I may leave more stars. However, we had strawberry cake that the edge of it was purple-blue coloured (???????) and the 3 scoops of ice cream taste weird.. and also served half melted... the orange ice cream was served as melt... my partner who had this ice cream had stomachache and sickness afterward... Dessert? Not recommended. Also I should mention the service was not very professional. The lady with twin bun was very good, nothing to say, but young chap had very poor service.... He went to wrong table to serve (table numbers are ON THE TABLE), and took ages to bring simple things. Also, he did not bring dessert spoons with our dessert, so we asked, and he brought me a dirty, rusty short tea spoon for my ice cream in long-latte-cup.... Feels like he does not know what he is doing...

What a great pub. Very dog friendly with a big beer garden. Very trendy feel to the whole place and right next to a huge meadow next to the river Thames that you can walk your dog in. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was happy and fun. Great place to bring children as there is a good park right on the opposite side of the road. Only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 stars is because the food was slightly cool when it got to us (the waitress thought we were outside but we were in the bar area) and then the red wine sauce didn't pack the flavourful punch I was expecting and it was very watery so I found that it totally let down the meal. If the sauce to the pie was thicker and had more flavour then this would of definitely had a 5/5 rating from me!!

I went for lunch today at Jacobs Inn ( What a pretentious name for a pretentious place!) We ate only starters , one person had baby squid, which appeared that it hadn’t defrosted properly, as the squib was over cooked and tough, so was inedible. I and my partner had a shared platter, which really was NOT big enough to share and some of the meat on there was so tough it could not be eaten. The dessert of Eton Mess was okay but I have seen larger portions on a children’s menu, one of the Strawberries was almost frozen the other one was ok( Yes two strawberries!) One glass of wine two non alcoholic beers. The service was slow, the waitress when she was taking our order we felt was rushing us so we could not peruse the menu properly. The Bill was £77 OUTRAGEOUS! Mac Donald’s food would have been far tastier and more nutritious. I have eaten in many many restaurants around the world and I can honestly say this is the worst one. No value for money food very poor, I will never ever eat there again. I think Jacobs Inn you need to sort your staff and...

Myself and my family love Jacob's Inn in Wolvercote. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful, the food fantastic, and the venue and location is beautiful. This is why it was the perfect location for my father's surprise 70th birthday party recently (also because he wouldn't suspect a thing). I was not at all surprised to learn that the guests had a great time, loved the venue and loved the food. What I was pleasantly surprised at however is just how well organised the venues was for such a large event, and that a couple of members of staff even took time our of their busy day to help us decorate the marquee in the garden! Arranging a large party (especially a surprise party) can be somewhat stressful, but the professionalism and of the willingness of the staff to help took the hassle out of it all, and this really made all the difference. Having organised several similar events over the years, I know the difference this makes and I simply couldn't fault the team at Jacob's Inn from the initial enquiry call, right up to the...
