I was given a voucher for My birthday which included the tomahawk steak. A Β£70 bit Of steak which my husband and I thought would be beautiful. We asked for it to be medium instead it was mainly rare. It was chewy and fatty. Which we did not expect from a Β£70 bit of steak. For my dessert I had a crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e which was nice but the raspberries used as garnish had mould on it and when I said to the waitress she said she would tell the kitchen. When we asked for the bill and commented on the fact that the raspberries were mouldy she was like well you donβt have much service charge ( this was because we had a voucher so they couldnβt charge us more service) to be the reason she couldnβt take any money of our bill. Β Β Β Read moreI came here for a date, as our well known friend, Dexter Corness, is a chef at the restaurant, and turned down a mitchelein star role as head chef, to continue working here. Trusting his opinion but not wanting to be biased when coming here, I was very much pleased to find the food was exquisite, and presented in a spectacular fashion. The meat, cooked to a defined standard, and the garnishings, perfectly complementary. Our waitress, Christine Ong, was delightfully receptive, and created a wonderful atmosphere as soon as she introduced herself. Unfortunately, we needed to rush off early, but the manager was helpful, and quick enough for us to catch our bus! Overall, a lovely evening for me and my girlfriend, with food good enough to become a main point of conversation over the night. Good start to the new year!...
Β Β Β Read moreAwful experience. Terrible atmosphere and average food. But I have never had such bad service in ANY restaurant before. I order a Ribeye steak. When it arrived it was a fillet. I stated that I had actually ordered a ribeye. The waitress immediately returned with her note pad and shoved it in my face saying "see? it says fillet, and I never get it wrong, you ordered fillet" . My friend tried to explain he also heard me order ribeye but she ignored him and said" what am I meant to do with that steak then?" It was only after a long argument she stormed off and placed another correct order for Ribeye. Even if I had made a mistake, which I hadnt, it is no way acceptable to speak to a diner like that, when they want to charge nearly Β£40 a steak! Absolutely disgusting. You would better service...
