I went to the Farmhouse for my nephew's 16th Birthday along with several family members. We had just enjoyed a brilliant golf lesson nearby and wanted to celebrate the occasion with a relaxed meal. Everything seemed fine and we ordered some drinks whilst we waited for our meals to arrive. One of the party requested a plain version of a meal, with no mayonnaise. This was due to a food allergy/intolerance, and she made it clear to the waitress at the time of order, who seemed happy to assist. A short while later the meals were served however, the "plain" dinner had been filled with other items not specified on the menu, including tomatoes. We mentioned this to the waitress, who to our suprise, very abruptly took the plate away looking rather annoyed at us. More than five mins later, the waitress returned with the same plate of foot and told use that there was nothing wrong and that the chef had rejected our concerns. We were astohished by this, and we showed the waitress the menu, which clearly didn't specify the items that had been served in the meal. We found ourselves having to justify this, and eventually, the waitress took the meal away to hopefully get us what we had ordered. A few minutes later we were then approached by another waitress who came straight over to our table from a nearby kitchen door. She told us that our two children, both of 16 years of age were not permitted to be drinking a fruit cider. Even though they are of legal age, and having a meal with their single drink. It appeared a deliberate act given our complaint over the meal and when I requested to speak with the manager the situation became a whole lot worse. She was incredibly hostile, aggressive in approach and unsympathetic about our poor experience. When I challenged her about the kids being permitted to drink, she told me not in this restaurant. When I asked to see the policy for this, she explained it was in a separate bar, where only adults are permitted to enter. So being a family meal, we were sat in the family area so would never have seen this policy. It all appeared very deliberate. It ruined the meal completely. Some of the family were crying, we no longer wanted to continue with the cold meals, and were not allowed to a refund for any of this. It was the single most horrendous meal out of my life, and I'm 44 so I've been out to a few ;o) But ever again to this place. It ruined the birthday celebrations, ended up costing us a lot of money too. Worse customer service ever, stay away; you have...
Read moreWe seem to always be unlucky when we come here. The kids wanted to play and eat so seemed like a good choice at the time. When we came in alot of what we wanted on the menu wasn't available, I understand these things can happen but perhaps a sign on the door or a sign up would be better. Then alot of the sauces were unavailable for the chicken sizzler which is what we finally went with after the rest we wanted was unavailable. So my mum asked if we could have sweet chilli and the guy at the till said yes he could do that but didn't notify us that he would be charging for this which seemed ridiculous after everything else was unavailble. Anyway the food arrived the kids food was ok they ate it and the chicken skewers on peppers we're nice on ours but the chips were far and few on the plate we're cold and the onion rings we got with our adult meals were inedible. I would be embarrassed to serve that and I was insulted to receive that. They looked like they had been sat out for days. Noone came over to check if our meal was ok. My mum was wondering round trying to find someone to notify them of the onion rings so we could change them. After 10 minutes she went up to the bar in the end as there was noone else around and asked for more onion rings. Again they came and even the guy looked embarassed and said I don't know if these will be much better. They weren't. We had to then ask for our deserts 3 times, they came and all the ice cream was already melted, again we complained and we spoke to a lovely chap Brandan who was very apologetic and tried to help where possible. He bought out fresh deserts and the kids were happy. He was very helpful and friendly and gave us the review card to leave our experience of the day. Most the staff wondered round like zombies but Brandan was a bright and bubble character who wanted to help. It's a shame the food experience was so bad but the kids did enjoy playing in the play area. However we did want some drinks in the play area but the coffee machine was broken! We also bought a pass for the play area but noone asks when ordering about the pass for the discount so missed out on that to! Overall not the best experience, more of a headache...
Read moreThe Farmhouse offers a delightful blend of rustic charm and contemporary flavors. The menu is an ode to farm-to-table dining, with a focus on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. I highly recommend starting with the roasted beet salad – it’s light, refreshing, and bursting with flavor. For the main course, the braised short ribs were tender and melt-in-your-mouth, accompanied by a perfect balance of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The dessert menu didn’t disappoint either, with the honey lavender cheesecake being a sweet and aromatic finish to the meal. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted, and it’s clear that they take pride in the quality and freshness of their ingredients.
