Pollito Loco — Restaurant in Portsmouth

What a find! We were just walking the dog down to the cemetery round the corner when we spotted this gem tucked away near Big Yellow on Rodney Road (opposite Portsmouth FC's ground, Fratton Park, and round the corner from the big Tesco in Fratton). The freshly made food and smoothies are so fantastic that a) we had to go back the next day for more and then again within a week, and b) I forgot to take any pics 😞 On our first visit, we tried the emanada, quesadilla, jerk burger and apple, carrot and ginger smoothie. Today, the smoothie was beetroot, apple and ginger, accompanied by popcorn chicken, more quesadilla and jalfrezi crazy loaded fries, followed by coffee and a delicious fried pudding (I've forgotten the name; but you can see the pic i took). The food was excellent, really tasty and flavoursome. We tried the chicken empanadas, chicken lollipops, the Caribbean mango and apple salad, Yuca fries, Plantain fritters, corn bread and some soup! The chicken was melt in the mouth and cooked perfectly. First time of trying Yuca for us ever and that was a hit! Lovely. The Char Sui sticky sauce was our favourite, but all the sauces were really good. So if you are after something a bit different, made from fresh ingredients, by someone who clearly expertly knows their way around a kitchen, then we would not hesitate to recommend here. Went with my family to explore the shop next to me.It was absolutely brilliant experience.Homely & quiet enironment,old fashioned classic decoration. We ordered Chicken with fries along with Yoodle and Jerk Burgers plus Korean loaded fries. Foods were smashing, made with extreme care and the mouth watering taste made us mad!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the food.
