I had Christmas dinners as well as birthdays events here with this landlord I bought him brandy and his wife flowers at Christmas. I did this also with the landlord before and the one before that I was good friends with all of them and still am with the previous, when I found out the current landlord Mitch was using cocaine. I questioned him about it he denied it, he then came up with some poor excuse and banned me after some big fight in there that I had nothing to do with me. My 22 year old daughter came home after a big fight on another night and said she or her friends would not go in there again people are using cocaine openly the landlord even said to one person go into the smoking area to do that. another longtime local who has used the pub for 30 years plus went to the toilet to be greeted by a youth with his trousers round his ankles a key in a small plastic bag with powder in it spooning it to his nose he asked the local want some mate, the local reported it to the landlord who's reply was if I didn't see it there's no proof. It was told to me at a later stage that one of the bar staff came upon Mitch in the middle of sniffing lines of white powder. nearly every weekend there are fights in the pub and door staff are a regular now, when the Baffin’s was a village pub mentality and if ever there was a disturbance in the pub a couple of locals would say to the locals arguing come on lads sort it out and it would blow over because everyone knew everyone, it was a very local pub and very community driven. when Mitch the landlord is heard telling people this is my pub well I’m sorry to say Mitch it’s the communities pub owned by the brewery, I think it’s about time the community got its village mentality pub back. I always thought there was something strange about the living arrangements Mitch his wife and her ex-husband live upstairs along with children when I discovered drugs were being consumed by people running the pub I told police officers one was Anna Shaw and a couple of other officers who came to move me on when I stood outside talking to people I've known for years they didn't seem bothered. So when I heard that Mitch is soon to be going I couldn't be happier but I believe he should still be investigated he may be involved in the distribution as well as the use of cocaine in the...
Read moreHave been here twice. First time food took 40 minutes to arrive and was close to cold. The second time we arrived and waited for 10 minutes to get seated even though we had booked before hand. Staff seemed to be all over the place with no real system. We ordered food and then 40 minutes later were told that the pie we wanted was not available. This pie was on the sunday menu (it was sunday) and was available to buy on the app so not sure how that happened and why it took 40 minutes to tell us that. We were offerred halloumi as a replacement after a very awkward interaction where the manager seemed more interested in getting rid of us than actually serving us. The manager then left to "check with the chef" and did not return for 20 minutes , upon which our food arrived via a server who didnt know what was happening. No other apology or compensation was offerred. The meal was missing the stuffing which was meant to be apart of the roast. It was also meant to be the "epic" version but only had 3 potatoes and a handful of mash. Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the food was nice once it arrived. Service however was terrible. It was not particuarlly busy , only 3 other tables even had food so not sure why it...
Read moreI mean what a place. Me and my partner came into this establishment last Thursday evening for a meal and a few drink, what can I say everything was amazing. Upon arriving we were immediately greeted, concidering it was incredibly busy I thought the fact the bar lady, unfortunately didn't get her name had even paid us any attention at all was incredible considering how busy her and another younger lady were was fabulous. We then found our seats and mulled over the menu which for the sheer volume and the price of the place was awesome. We choose what we wanted and I proceeded to the bar which was now not as busy but still a few people waiting, I was seen to almost immediately and the lady we very polite and an asset to your establishment. We waited not even 15 minutes for our food yet we were told there could be a 30 minute wait as like I said they were very busy. The food itself was great. All cooked perfectly. Once finished the table was cleared within 5 minutes at most. Overall our experience with the place was great and I will definitely...
