Harpers Sandwich Bar — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Having just moved in to the area, I wanted to try somewhere local for my lunch.

In walks me, a socially awkward human who is an idiot ready to dive in to something unprepared. The staff however were more than ready to deal with me. They took me through the bread options, talked about the fillings with me and then explained about the salad. The experience inside the shop, perfect. 5 stars. Couldn’t have gone better.

Now, the sandwiches themselves. I got myself a jerk chicken filled platt roll with salad and cheese. And oh boy was it delicious. I even contemplated going back for another! However, my waistline would have been furious, so I elected to stay satisfied, leaving me eager to return for another visit. My wife had the coronation chicken which I have been told was equally delicious.

We are excited to live down the road because it means it’ll be easier to try all the other fillings. It’s great to have a local sandwich bar like this, and we will definitely be returning. Especially as it’s such a short walk down the...
