We were a party of 4 and our first time of visiting this venue. We have been to the Jaan's in Blackburn many a times and we have never been disappointed.
We ordered the Poppadums with chutney trays, Tawa for 3, a Chapli Kebab on naan, mango lassi and a few cans.
This is my feedback:
Atmosphere It's a new kitted restaurant so everything looks new. The decor is pleasant, tables and chairs are good. Overall a very pleasant environment.
Staff We were greeted with a smile and were seated promptly, though it was Monday evening so was quiet. Throughout our evening staff were attentive and responded promptly. We had an issue with one of our orders and this was rectified promptly and without any hassle. So in summary, keep up the good service.
Food Poppadoms - the poppadoms were fine. Chutney tray a bit limited compared to other restaurants, could do with a mango pickle.
Chapli Kebabs on Naan - good portion size for the price. Everyone enjoyed it, it was lovely. Spiced just right. Highly Recommend.
Tawa for 3: Chops - slightly under done, we had to send one back as couldn't chew into it at all, though was replaced immediately. So review chops tenderness.
Chicken pieces & wings - no issue, tasted lovely.
Kebab - great taste
Fish pakoras - were lovely, fresh and crispy.
Chips - crispy and fluffy inside
Curries - were awesome, both lamb and chicken.
Roti & Naan - nice and soft
Mango Lassi - was sweet and creamy, tasted just right.
Overall the food was lovely. Tasty and good level of spices.
Price - our total bill came to £69, which in these times is quite decent.
Summary. Highly recommend and will go back again and probably replaces my trip to Blackburn. At last Preston has a decent restaurant to compete against...
Read moreI had a deeply distressing and unacceptable experience at Jaan’s Preston on March 18th. I fell inside the restaurant due to a loose tile in the entrance just inside the door — a serious safety hazard — and as a disabled person, this fall has had lasting effects on my health. I’m now undergoing physiotherapy, and I have photographic evidence of the tile that caused the incident.
Shockingly, not a single staff member offered help or even asked if I was okay. It was only after my family requested assistance that they brought some water was reluctantly given. My family were then left to pick me up off the floor but again the staff continued to walk on by. When my family raised the issue with a member of the owner’s family, it was dismissed with a careless “the tile was fine before.”
I called the restaurant the next day and was promised a free meal as a gesture of goodwill. But when I arrived to collect it, I was told there was no record of this — and was met with a dismissive, argumentative attitude from the owner, who brushed it off with, “lots of people fall over here.” That comment alone speaks volumes about the lack of care and responsibility.
This entire experience — from the injury to the negligent response and broken promises — has been appalling. I would strongly urge management to take responsibility, fix the safety hazard, and treat customers with basic respect and compassion. The cash only policy is also annoying until you tell them you have no cash and then they pull out the card machine. As it stands, I cannot recommend this...

I was sat inside Jaan’s Preston yesterday and witnessed firsthand the kind of dismissive, rude behavior other reviewers have unfortunately experienced — particularly the review mentioning the incident on March 18th. I can now fully confirm the owner's shocking response to that situation, as I heard him outright say, “plenty of people fall here,” as if that somehow excuses the issue. The lack of responsibility or compassion from management was genuinely disturbing.
What really struck me was not just the dangerous state of the entrance, but the way the owner handled the matter — completely argumentative, cold, and without any concern for the impact on the person affected. It was clear he had no intention of making things right and was more interested in defending the indefensible than showing any basic decency.
On top of all this, they still operate on a cash-only policy — which feels deliberately inconvenient — yet suddenly a card machine appears when you say you don’t have cash. It’s just another example of the unprofessionalism that seems to run through this place.
The atmosphere, the lack of accountability, and the way genuine concerns are brushed off by management make it very hard to recommend this restaurant, even though the food was pretty good. I genuinely hope the owners start taking customer safety and respect seriously — but until...
