The Feathers is an absolute gem that beautifully upholds the charm of a traditional British pub. From the moment you walk in, the cozy and rustic interior fill you with a sense of calm, it was all perfectly clean and well maintained, and the spacious beer garden is a delightful spot, with the cleanliness being applied in the garden too
After being invited by the atmosphere, the bar staff were attentive and welcoming, and made wonderful drinks with good recommendations when I had questions, thank you to Igor and Hardy :)
Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu is full of British pub classics, and I can’t recommend their hand-battered fish and chips enough. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—an absolute dream. I was quite hungry, so I ordered the steak an hour or so later, it was grilled to perfection, juicy (I eat mine well done, so good job on that chefs😅) and full of flavor. Both dishes were crafted with such care, you can tell the chefs put much effort into their work.
Speaking of caring chefs, a special shout out to Kirsty, the big boss chef, while she didn’t personally cook my meal- (that credit goes to her two talented chefs, of which their names have slipped my mind due to the brandy and tequila consumed on the night, but they were great, named or otherwise)
-Kirsty had finished her shift and had the time to chat with me during my visit. She was so down to earth and kind. She mentioned how much she cares for her team, refering to her chefs as her babies, which I thought was very cute 🥰 and you can feel that love in the quality of the food.
The Feathers Hotel is more than just a place to drink, it's a place where you feel right at home. The staff is friendly, the food is exceptional, and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion, I shall not forget it...
Read moreI'm reviewing the pub and restaurant and NOT the hotel. I popped in here one Saturday evening to meet some friends to watch the football and have some dinner before moving on to the house party nearby. I was getting peckish, so eventually decided to get some food. I chose the bacon and cheese burger with fries (£13), but when I went to order at the bar they told me they were out of bacon...so I asked if they could put something else in it as a replacement or knock some money off of the bill, but they said neither was possible, which in my opinion isn't good enough to be honest. If you can't give me the full product that you're selling, then you have to knock some money off or give me a suitable replacement. I accepted and purchased it just as a cheese burger just so I could write this review! It was an average burger and chips at the end of the day, nothing to write home about, and I thought the drinks were a bit overpriced for where I was too. I also got told by one of my other friends who had been in there earlier that same day, that they didn't even have sausages for the bangers and mash on the menú...something which I find unacceptable especially on a busier weekend day! I'd actually give them 2 stars, but the staff were friendly and apologetic, so they just about get 3. It's worth a visit if ya wanna stop off for a quick drink, in my opinion, and...
Read moreOh dear oh dear. We came here because it used to be a lovely place to come for food. OK Let's start at the beginning, The sign outside says "50% off food all day", not "50% of selected dishes whilst stocks don't even last beyond lunchtime All day". It was my wife's birthday and I'd managed to blag a day off work. We had driven past the place a few times and had a look at the menu. It looked nice so we thought we would give it a try. Mistake no. 1. I went to the bar and ordered rarebit and 2 burgers. We were then informed that burgers were finished because they were so popular! It was 1.15! Also the only available steaks were ribeye, and we didn't really want steak anyway. My wife then decided that she would have the rarebit, but with wedges. The info coming back... Only mains are half price! I then settled on the curry served with Basmati rice. This was the weirdest Basmati I have ever tasted... Just like Uncle Ben's! Wifey decided on the scampi and Ma-in-Law had the rarebit. The chips had been hanging around for a while and the rarebit was not hot either. The 2 latte coffees we ordered were lukewarm. I returned my curry, 'cause I like basmati rice and as the food had taken so long to arrive I decided not to risk another order. The meals were refunded, but the bitter taste of disappointment stays on the palate. I'd avoid it...
