Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our visit to the Joshua tree for Sunday Lunch.
Firstly although our table for 9 was booked and confirmed for 1pm we arrived and the restaurant was closed. I went round the side and bumped into a man who then opened the restaurant his excuse was that they had an outside catering job for 200 - clearly forgot about his inside catering job! Not a good start.
The restaurant heating was off so it was extremely cold (10 Deg C max) and we sat for 2.5 hours with our coats on waiting for our food to arrive. Yes two and a half hours!.
What did arrive was very mediocre - no actually it was appalling - and was also on the cold side, like the restaurant. Service was non existent as it appears that satisfying Deliveroo/Just Eat orders was their priority. Just getting another round of drinks was an effort.
The popadom accompaniments were just weird, runny syrup mango chutney (no chutney), fluorescent green mint sauce, and strange chopped up onion with other bits? Very cheap and nasty.
But with nothing else to eat we tucked in.
When our main eventually arrived it was not much better looking, very unappetizing indeed, zero effort in presentation plonked on the table without even an apology. The Onion bhajis were dry cold balls of stodge, which sort of sums up the care and attention which went into the whole meal.
It's quite unbelievable how low the standard of food was. They could not make it any worse if they tried.
This is not a restaurant it's a factory for delivery companies, if you are expecting a quality English Indian meal with the usual excellent service Indian restaurants are know for you will be disappointed.
I am not sure what restaurant some of the other reviewers had been to but it wasn't The Joshua Tree. In fact the food photos of the other reviews look different, perhaps at the weekend the owners hand the business to the muppets.
I was totally embarrassed to have taken my family there. £250 of disappointment.
It will be interesting to see if they can be bothered to reply to this...
Read moreHad a delivery from here last night they delivered wrong food after speaking to two different people ? How can a chicken curry be mistaken for a varutharacha chicken curry ? The food was very dark in colour and very oily . The meal we had for two was expensive and was charged 20 per cent tax on top as well for delivery ?. All in all extremely disappointed about the whole experience after reading all the good reviews ..Been eating Curry's for 40 years all over London and this place certainly is not any where near up to scratch will definitely not ordering from here again wrong order oily food and very expensive not much more I can say be warned. oh and the fella answering for delivery speaks very little English £44.65 for 2 chicken curries 1 boiled rice 1 Bombay potato 1 aloo Gobi 1 keema nan 1 plain nan Very pricey Would like to point out after your reply that there was no discussion regarding the different chicken curry so that's untrue. The man I spoke to didn't speak good English I was passed on to a young lady and no discussion whatsoever was made re the curry you sent that I never ordered. I have not made any false claims all very true. As for refund how would I have a card machine to get refund I'm not a business ? Funny how you can take a payment on your machine but cannot do a refund on your machine ?? I'm more than happy to come to your premises to get refund , Also nothing was mentioned regarding £5 delivery charge another untrue statement. Just updating the situation after complaint nothing was ever refunded .. No wonder the restaurant is empty every night of the week including weekends .. Please don't waste Ur money in this expensive below par...
Read moreI have had the pleasure of visiting The Joshua Tree Pub/Restaurant not once, but twice, specifically to enjoy their Sunday roast. After these experiences, I can confidently say that I highly recommend this establishment. The Joshua Tree provides a delightful pub experience with its delicious food and quintessential atmosphere.
First and foremost, the food at The Joshua Tree Pub/Restaurant is simply fantastic. The Sunday roast, in particular, is a standout dish that left a lasting impression. The meal was expertly prepared, showcasing the chef's culinary skills and attention to detail. The meat was tender and flavorful, accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables and a mouthwatering gravy. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, and it was evident that great care was taken in the preparation and presentation of the food.
The atmosphere at The Joshua Tree perfectly embodies the charm and warmth typically associated with traditional pubs. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a welcoming ambiance that invites relaxation and enjoyment. The cozy interior, dim lighting, and wooden furnishings create a comfortable setting where guests can unwind and socialize. Whether you're looking to have a casual conversation with friends or enjoy a quiet meal alone, the pub atmosphere is conducive to both.
Furthermore, the staff at The Joshua Tree Pub/Restaurant deserve commendation for their friendly and attentive service.
