I previously visited this lovely place so when we were in the area, it was a must to come here for breakfast again. I absolutely hate writing reviews that aren’t positive but since no one asked about our experience, I’d like to share my feedback this way. We weren’t received in a friendly manner, I can understand it’s a busy bank holiday Monday but when you turn up into any establishment, first impressions are important. We didn’t even get as much as a hello. I asked if we could have a table for 2 people to which the young lady responded ‘Have you booked?’ It’s pretty obvious you haven’t booked when you’re asking IF you can have a table. Anyway, she said they didn’t have any tables at all. I noticed there was plenty of tables outside though and asked if we can have one outside. ‘There will be a wait though.’ We really didn’t mind at all as we weren’t in a rush but it would have been nice to be offered one. She walked away and actually managed to get us a table inside after all. Now, I really don’t care if I have to wait for food in a busy place but it takes seconds to at least offer coffee/drink whilst you are waiting. We sat there for the best part of half an hour before another lady came to offer us a drink and take our order. The food turned up pretty quickly, in fact even before our drinks and was delicious, except for the temperature. The biggest issue to me is the food was sat there under the lights for insanely long periods of time. Not just our order, just for the record. The kitchen would ring the bell and nothing would happen for minutes. I own a cafe myself and could literally scream when I see this. When food is ready, you just drop everything that you’re doing, and go deliver that food. It’s a priority and I am so surprised the kitchen seemed so relaxed about this issue whilst piling more and more plates under the lights. It’s a shame because the quality and presentation is fantastic. Even though understaffed, I believe with a little more prioritising and managing of the young staff (which need whipping into shape), certain issues could have been avoided. Thank you for the food though and we will come again when...

We stayed in the glamping tents for few nights. As we arrived we struggled to find the entrance but managed to speak to a member of staff called Jake who guided us to our tent. we ordered food late evening. The pizzas were ok and my boyfriends pizza was missing toppings. Booked table for next evening on Saturday at 6:30pm our name and number was taken. Breakfast was nice. I find the service is much more efficient in the mornings, staff are friendly and acknowledge when arriving. Rang up to ask if need to book then we turn up and we get asked if we booked I told the lady no you said we don’t need to book! So I found it very strange we get told different things but I saw no times available for the morning! Saturday night, turned up at 6:30 got served by a waitress who knew very little English, looked on the bookings and said there is no name under yours for 6:30pm. I wasn’t pleased with her service as she wasn’t very empathetic about the situation. We got a table in the end, after 30 minutes gone by we got our starters without our drinks, no water on the table I had to ask to get our drinks. None of the waiters seemed alert of what they’re job roles in the restaurant and no delegation of who does what. My boyfriend has to tell the waiter to take our plates after he’s just walking around oblivious to serving us. I wasn’t happy of our evening, I certainly won’t be returning. The food isn’t good and the customer service is very poor. The waitress didn’t apologise when my boyfriend was asked how everything went. I’ve never experienced such...

Me and my wife came here last night for the first time, to enjoy a night out for our wedding anniversary, after hearing good things about it. We enjoyed it, and the food was really nice, and good value, however I was quite disappointed by the service, We had booked for half 6 so arrived a bit early and we were seated on time. It was about 10 past 7 when our food arrived (ordered within 5 minutes). Our plates were cleared away within minutes of finishing (just after half 7) but we were not asked if we wanted dessert. After almost 20 minutes we had to ask a passing staff member for the menu, and after ordering, it was just after 10 past 8 when we received our desserts (1hr 40 minutes after being shown to our table). It may have been a night where they were short staffed? 2 staff working in the kitchen, and 2 staff serving food, (a third was serving behind the bar and helping with waiting on when available). One member of the waiting staff was observed to be checking their phone on 2-3 occasions in the dining area (if on a short break, maybe should have left the area first). It hasn't put us off, and we may well be back again to see if was just an unfortunate night to pick, but wasn't the greatest of first impressions if being...

The food presentation was great, but the quality was barely average. The service was virtually none existent and incredibly slow. We waited around 45 minutes just to have our plates cleared. Our son was looking forward to ordering dessert, but the staff were just too slow. Staff were anywhere from just about pleasant, to looking like they had the weight of the world on their shoulders. The website makes it look like a great place to go, the reality; it is more like a café punching above its weight. Where we were seated, we might have well been sat in the kitchen. The drone from the extractor fan was grating and the smell of grease from the fryer was unplesent. TBF, there may be better places to sit in the restaurant, but you don't really have a choice in the matter. Honestly, it might be worth a try if you are in the area (your milage may vary), but there are so many other great places locally, we won't be returning in a hurry.

Edit: March 2022: Still an excellent and incredibly friendly welcome. Still excellent food, quickly served in a very pleasant environment, with super-friendly staff. ———— After two failed attempts at 3pm food locally, we discovered this gem, serving until late in the afternoon. It’s a lovely cafe/restaurant at the centre of an upmarket caravan site, but open to the public. The welcome was second to none, friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious and served quickly. The menu is very wide ranging, from classic food to adventurous options, and reasonably priced. It’s all on one level, so there are no accessibility issues, although it’s quite large, it’s sectionalised so you feel it’s more intimate, and there are lots of windows so it feels airy and light. It’s certainly a place to go back to with more intention

We were really looking forward to a evening here after reading the reviews. We were staying on the site! But we were actually disappointed. The restaurant was very busy which is maybe why the service wasn’t that great. My side plate was extremely dirty I noticed it as soon as we sat down when I mentioned it it was taken off me and nothing was said. Then we ordered food the pasta was very bland not much flavour the sweet potato fries were great most probably the best thing about visit the restaurant. I felt sorry for the staff they seemed to be wondering around not knowing what to do as It was so busy! Food was being served before drinks. Just a shame really! all the good reviews this could have just been a blip that we unfortunately encountered.
