WellâŚ.. What could I say about this pub. If I could give a minus I would!! We chose this venue for our Xmas lunch from work. 4 of us arrived at 12.00. Empty pub! We ordered within 10 minutes after being informed by the staff that there was no meat. (I know what youâre thinking at this stage. âYou should have leftâ) red flag. However we only had 1 hr so chose the fish n chips option. At 1.05 I asked if our meal was going to be served soon as we were already late back to work and the answer was âweâve had a power cutâ despite all the screens, machines and Xmas light still being on?? The meal came 5 mins later. Fish smelt as if it was as off and the chips were soggy and luke warm as if they had been warmed up! Awful!!! It was advertised as a small potion for ÂŁ12.95. They were true to their word. It was certainly small. In fact I canât remember seeing such a small potion of food notwithstanding a childrenâs menu.
Itâs approx 15/20 years since I was last in this establishment (Funeral)and I kid you not itâs still the same decoration and hasnât had any renovations or improvements since.
Although we were in the bar area for approx 1hr 20 mins there was hardly no one else came into the bar (possibly a couple of people but soon left). No atmosphere at all.
Very disappointing visit. I hope it improves for my next schedule...
Read moreOld traditional pub, possibly in need of a bit of updating but the staff are very welcoming and friendly - ready to have a chat. Very popular with locals. Inside it still has the old bar and bar stools which is good to see in a traditional pub, and a good range of draught beers. There is a very large car park with parking spaces for disabled. A ramp up to the door for wheelchairs and wide doors make it very accessible. For the better weather there is a large beer garden, although this is next to the busy main road. Food is basic 'pub grub' with nothing fancy but it was cooked well and very tasty and portions were very large with reasonable prices. The kitchen has a top grade of 5 hygiene rating. TVs with Sky Sports are dotted around and a pool table and dartboard. In all, a great place to while away some time,...
Read moreStopped by just after 12 on a Wednesday with a few colleagues for a food stop. The pub had only just opened but already a few patrons inside. Good selection on tap, I was a driver, so no comment on beer, unfortunately! Checked that the kitchen was open, which it was, and we all ordered different burgers. There was an option to double up on the patty for £3, so essentially a massive burger, fries, £10ish each. We went outside (lovely sunny day) and chose a bench, most had parasols with bench in good condition. Cutlery and condiments brought to table, and then shortly after all dishes together. Food was amazing, service was spot on, could have stayed for a few hours but had to hit the road. If in the area again I will 100% call by for...
