My family used to come here when the restaurant was called âFallen Angelsâ for special occasions. Unfortunately all the lovely classic Italian angel paintings on the wall have gone (just boring grey walls now) The atmosphere is different, the music played is what you would hear in a night club.
Unfortunately we will not be returning - although the staff are lovely, the food is just not good. I had bruschetta. The dish was bland with freezing cold tomatoes and swimming in olive oil. I also had the âpizzaâ - I was really looking forward to the crispy base but it was floppy and just had no flavour (I didnât finish it). My husband had the steak. He said it had no flavour and was undercooked (he asked for medium and it came rare) They put a massive clump of undressed rocket on the side. He said the steak was cold inside. He said it was like they had left it on the side (on a cold plate or something?) He didnât finish it - which just tells you everything because he has never done that before.
No one came to give our bill so we went to the front desk to pay. The host asked us how I meal was and I didnât know how to say it because itâs awkward and then he pushed us to say what we thought so I said about the meal and he said he could have got us something else - but that wouldnât have solved the problem because I donât think it would have been any better - everything we ordered was bad. And that was it. Itâs so sad because we have so many lovely memories from Fallen Angels but we will not return- we came when it was first Cenetta and didnât enjoy the food then either (we were hoping it was just a blip!)
Would have been a bit of a consolation to be at least offered some money off the bill or even a cocktail- just...
Read moreA college reunion of x catering students was the reason for booking this atmospheric restaurant. The food was of a decent standard but nothing spectacular. Waited a long time at the end of the meal for a jug of water which turned up warmer than tepid, no ice or lemon in. The tables need steadying as they rocked back and fourth causing one of our party to spill a drink. The drink was replaced with no fuss but no effort made to change the wet cloth beneath. One of our party had a couple or cocktails and the second one was noticeably different than the first. On querying this the young male waiter got quite confrontational and stroppy. On investigation it came to light that the first cocktail was a double making the second taste weak in comparison. We apologise for our oversight in a polite manner but once again the attitude from the waiter was poor to the point I complained to the head of staff there. The customer is sometimes wrong but they should be treated like they are not. When will young inexperienced waiting staff realise they can double their wages in tips if they smile and be courteous even with the most difficult customer. Training needed. Also be careful in the toilet washing your hands as the hot water comes out at coffee making temperature. Maybe this explains the tepid drinking water deliverered to our table as hot and cold pipes offen run...
Read more6 of us went to this restaurant yesterday to celebrate our friendâs birthday. The service was awful. After waiting quite a while, we had to ask the waiter to take our order. Once the food arrived it was very disappointing. My steak was very dry and my friends pasta and cod dish was too (as if they had been stood under the hot lamps waiting for the other food). I had to leave the table to go to ask the staff if we could order more drinks because the staff were just not keeping an eye on the tables and weâre walking past with blinkers on, including the manager!! There were only 2 other tables occupied so it wasnât like they were busy. We all decided not to stay for dessertâs or another drink (we only had 2 drinks but would have had more if weâd have been asked). We eat out at various restaurants on a regular basis. Our whole experience of this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We will not be returning and will not recommend it, hence...
