Chicken Cottage — Restaurant in Rochdale

Aweful, the only reason this particular branch has customers is because of its location and the chicken cottage brand. This particular store is just terrible though, dirty on both chances I given the place, alot of flies around, unrepaired damages (window, seats and floor), slow service and bad atmosphere. The staff are basically a joke of a family that try to run things but are unprofessional and unhygienic. I can't believe that this place passes health inspection, I didn't see a food hygiene rating when I went in either. Also they keep their condiments on the window ledge to bake in the sun so don't bother trying their mayo unless you want to get ill. The two times I visited I witnessed the staff try to short change customers so watch yourself if you go. The food is cooked in advance and then warned up so the chicken is rubbery and the fries are refried rather than fried for the customer when they make their order. This particular store has put me off the whole franchise. I truly hope this place gets inspected by the franchise owners or by the food health standards...

We ordered from just eat at around 11:30pm for only 2 chicken wraps (nothing added on). The delivery time was scheduled for 12:20am which I thought was ridiculous, I tried to cancel the order but was saying I couldn’t get money back as it said they had already started preparing my order so I thought it may arrive quicker. But by 12:20am there was no update on the order so I decided to ring up for them to say they will be setting off from the restaurant in 10 minutes. I waited until 12:40 as I only live 5 minutes away from the takeaway. I rang them back to hopefully get some helpful update, to find out they hadn’t even set off yet so I am obviously very annoyed. They finally turn up at 12:50am with the two chicken wraps that were cold, inedible and salty. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very hostile and angry towards me and my partner. I have not received any sort of compensation for this situation and would like my money back. I would not recommend ordering food from this takeaway and will not be ordering from there...

Food - Chicken is fantastic!! Not overcooked. It's just right. Same with the fries. Drinks are OK as well.

Atmosphere - Chicken Cottage has good decorations and lighting, but the tables have lots of scratches in them and one of the chairs have completely ripped apart and hasn't been fixed for over a year. The tables are rarely cleaned and always dirty. There used to be a smash in one of the windows from a break-in (shows what type of area I live in), but this has now been fixed.

Staff - The staff are OK. But the thing is: whenever I get a Chicken Mix Meal For 4.99 and give them a fiver, they never give me a penny back!! (JK. This doesn't actually get me frustrated). Oh yeah, and one time I saw the staff arguing and one of them threw a pot on the floor.

Customers - Most of the people that come in to the shop are OK, but sometimes you get some chavy c*s that like to ps around a lot, but other than that it's OK.
