Stocco - Authentic Italian Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Rochdale

We've had a couple of meals here and both have been generally okay. The starters are a bit over-priced, but the pasta/pizzas/mains are good value, with loads of meat in the pasta and loaded pizzas.

There were a few criticisms however, over the two meals:

the ribs starter doesn't come with enough sauce; I'm afraid that offering strawberry/vanilla/chocolate as "classico gelato" is a bit much! Asda call it a tub of Neapolitan ice cream. only a generic Italian bloke would call an alcohol-free cocktail "The Under 18". Is that because only Italian children drink non-alcoholic drinks? also, most restaurants in these enlightened times now have a choice of non-alcohol lagers/beers/ciders, rather than a single Becks Blue. Why stock a German lager when Peroni and Moretti...

Thought we would try this place as it's new and always looks really posh when driving past. Boomed for 8.30pm arrived bang on time, to which the lady couldn't seem to find our reservation. Was told to be seated, which we was for half an hour with no ask if we wanted a drink whilst we waiting or told whether or not it for self service at the bar. The place was jam-packed, and I mean not one seat available. Very busy. The food was good and it didn't take very long to arrive. Some servers seemed very nice and friendly, ensuring if our food was all okay. The only problem we had that the chips were undercooked.

Probably wouldn't be in a rush to come back as overall wasn't happy with the communication when having to...

Son booked for daughters birthday 2 wheelchairs 3 adults got there 2 separate tables one behind each other full of apologies but stuck there all night,3 drink order's wrong son ask for birthday cake for his sister I cancelled it no point if your sat on separate tables!!! Will never go there again from start to finish it was a farce and my daughter in law had travelled from Burnley thinking she was out for a good meal absolutely a disgrace will never go there again we shall stick to Riva at lake at least there customer service is always on point !! Am so annoyed as it was my daughter’s birthday...
