The True Taste Of India — Restaurant in Rochdale

It's unfortunate that i can't give 2 separate ratings. I phoned in a takeaway order at 7pm and was told it would be ready at 7.40, or maybe 7.45. Fair enough, I don't need a timing to the minute. I duly arrived at 7.40, paid and waited .. and waited .. and waited. In the meantime another takeaway customer came in, paid and left with his food within a couple of minutes, and the table next to where I was waiting who hadn't even ordered their food after I had paid (and indeed after the other takeaway customer had left), were tucking into their first courses. The food eventually arrived at almost 8.10 with apologies (of course) but no explanation as to reason why other customers didn't have to wait.

On the positive side the food, when we eventually got to taste it, was absolutely first class, beautifully cooked and flavoured.

When will businesses offering a takeaway service get the message that customers would actually prefer to know a true and accurate time pre-ordered food will be ready for collection, not just a random time that the shop thinks will be acceptable to the customer. If it's going to be an hour, tell me it'll be an hour.

Unfortunately I had a poor experience at this restaurant. We ordered starters and hadn’t even finished them yet for two different waiters to be hovering around and keep checking to see if we had finished which was very rude. The chips were microwaved and dry. I ask for my curry to be hot and for extra chillies to which it was like a korma with no spice at all. I went out of a cigarette to find out the wife has been approached by the staff to ask where I was going?? Again very rude if you ask me. At the end of it all we got two shots given to us which I asked if they were alcoholic as the wife is pregnant to them to say no when it blatantly stunk of alcohol. Overall poor food, very poor service and I would not recommend this place or return...

First visit to this restaurant on a Sunday tea time. Relatively quiet in number of diners. Unfortunately it wasn't with a lady on an adjacent table who had a voice you could hear in the town centre. I suppose you can't handpick your customers! The service was efficient and food came out relatively quickly, despite a steady takeaway trade. The food itself was excellent and portions were a great size. I would go back and eat...
