Thamin — Restaurant in Rochdale

We had a group booking for new years eve 2024 at 7pm , We were seated in the party room because there were 23 of us. Our daughter had given in a pre-order for all our food, the room was very noisy we were all shouting across the table to be heard, we were boxed into the corner right near the speakers, the man doing the dj didn't play any decent music it was just very loud and head banging music no vocals, it seemed to be the same awful tune all the time. my husband went to ask him if he could play Christmas songs and he just ignored him. the waiter came to put starters out then walked away left us all wondering when the rest of us would get our starters, when the main dishes finally came again confusion as to who had ordered what, we couldn't hear what the waiter was saying because the music was too loud, again the waiter walked away leaving the dishes on the trolly, another waiter came to help, my daughter also went to help as she knew who was having what. half were given the dishes without the plates so had to wait, then some had already eaten their meal before the rest of us were served, it was a fiasco we all felt stressed, l asked the waiter to please turn down the music so we could hear, which he did but not by much. My dish was Chicken in breadcrumbs with chips and salad, the Chicken nothing to write home about. My husband had scampi which was hard and salty, he didn't eat his meal. Our daughter got so stressed with it all it put her off eating too. Then a woman came in with her family sat down at the table near ours and started vaping, l heard her say there are no signs to say no vaping so she will vape, which she did, we had 4 babies with us in our party plus 4 other children. Not respectful at all. I did complain as did quire a few of our party about the service or lack of! we were given money off our bill, l got 90p off mine, I WONT BE GOING THERE AGAIN. Infact done...

I recently hosted my son’s 1st birthday party in the private room at Thamin Restaurant, and it was such a wonderful experience. There were around 30 of us, including lots of little ones, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and supportive from the beginning. They provided highchairs, made sure there were food options for the kids, and were happy to help with anything I needed on the day. The buffet had a great variety and all guests were happy with the food. The service really stood out — the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, which took a lot of pressure off me and allowed me to actually enjoy the day. Everyone had a lovely time, and I’m so grateful for how well we were looked after.
