As a frequent visitor, I can confidently say that The New Inn, Sidley, is not just a pub—it’s an experience. The combination of a carefully curated menu, an extensive selection of drinks, and the warmth and dedication from Lewis, Zoe, and their incredible team, makes it a standout destination for both locals and visitors alike.
The Food Every meal at The New Inn is a celebration of flavor. Whether you're in for a casual bite or a hearty feast, the food here never disappoints. The menu strikes a perfect balance between classic pub fare and more refined dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I’ve shared countless meals here with friends and family, and every dish is crafted with such care that it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in its creations. Whether it's a comforting pie, a sizzling steak, or their mouth-watering Sunday roasts, each dish feels like it’s been cooked just for you.
A Wide Selection of Drinks When it comes to drinks, The New Inn offers a remarkable variety. The bar is stocked with a selection that caters to every taste—from locally sourced ales and craft beers to an impressive array of wines and spirits. Whether you're a fan of a classic pint or looking for something more adventurous, you’ll never be short of choices. The atmosphere is always lively but comfortable, with each drink served to perfection, complementing the food and elevating the overall experience.
The Heart of the Experience – Lewis, Zoe, and the Team What truly sets The New Inn apart is the exceptional service provided by Lewis, Zoe, and their dedicated team. Their genuine passion for hospitality is evident in every interaction, from the warm welcome you receive upon arrival to the personal touches throughout your visit. It’s clear that this team cares deeply about their customers, and it’s this care and attention that keeps people coming back. They have created a space where you feel like more than just a guest—you feel part of a community.
A Pub in Transition – Renovation with Purpose One of the most impressive things about The New Inn is how Lewis and Zoe have taken on the challenge of slowly renovating the pub, striving for exceptional standards without losing the charm that makes it so special. Their dedication to improving the space is commendable, but they face the challenge of balancing this ongoing renovation while driving the income needed to achieve their ambitious goals. It’s clear that they’re creating something truly special, a space that will shine even brighter in the future—but they’re doing it thoughtfully, making sure every change enhances the experience for their guests.
A Place to Call Your Own As a regular, I can honestly say that The New Inn is more than just my local—it’s a place I adore, a go-to for both casual nights with friends and special family gatherings. There’s a warmth here that’s hard to find anywhere else, and whether you’re popping in for a quick drink or staying for a long evening of food and laughter, The New Inn always feels like home.
Lewis, Zoe, and the entire team deserve every bit of recognition for the hard work they’ve put in—and continue to put in—towards making The New Inn a true treasure in Sidley. With food that delights, drinks that impress, and hospitality that’s second to none, it’s only a matter of time before The New Inn receives the broader accolades it so...
Read moreThis is a great pub! Very friendly and helpful staff. Stan (the chef ) Sunday Meal is not to be missed. Sometimes noisy but always a good place for a quick pint or bite to eat and linger longer. Thank you for many happy hours! Cheers!
2025 Furthermore after looking at some of the reviews - it is an experience. I recall a Superman on our first visit to “dude looks like a lady” on our last. Our daughter sang a song from Hamilton. A place where strangers become friends and the food is in my humble opinion …the best pub fare I have had in southern England. Need bigger shot glasses for my tequila shots but the beer and spirits are always served with a smile. Ralphus
2025 June Oh my gosh! I just heard about the fire in the basement! I hope that all is well now and the whole gang is back to providing quality drinks and food and service and above all - that wacky fun that makes strangers laugh and family. Best wishes to all! Cheers from the other side of...
Read moreI was one of a party of 12 booked to have Sunday lunch and The New Inn certainly did not disappoint and lived up to all expectations. I ordered the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, which were absolutely delicious and I would most definitely have these again. All other meals ordered were a fabulous Roast of pork, beef or gammon with all the trimmings. The portion sizes were very generous, as we're the children's roast dinners. All lunches arrived piping hot and all at once considering the amount of food ordered. The owner and staff were very attentive, polite and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and calming. The Chef and all did themselves proud. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well as the drinks. We highly recommend The New Inn for a wonderful Sunday roast - It is most certainly the place to go for great quality, great prices and wonderful service. A wonderful time...
